About the Role

In collaboration with our Executive Chef and Kitchen team, you will support the day-to-day operations of our Food & Beverage department, which includes Wharf 350 Bar & Restaurant, In-Room Dining, and Conference & Events.

Working alongside the Food & Beverage team, you will contribute to delivering a distinctive, on-brand, and high-quality experience across all outlets, events, conferences, and social functions.


Responsibilities

  • Overseeing kitchen operations during preparation and service with efficiency and focus
  • Mentor and train kitchen team members
  • Support kitchen operations including ordering, stock control and rostering
  • Work alongside the Executive Chef with menu development and specials
  • Maintain a high standard in food safety and compliance
  • Drive a culture of professionalism and accountability


Skills & Experience

  • Minimum Certificate III Commercial Cookery
  • Prior experience as a Sous Chef or Chef de Partie within 4-5 star property
  • A creative flair and solid understanding of menu development
  • Strong attention to detail in all aspects of kitchen operations
  • Outstanding leadership and teamwork capabilities
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • A proactive, self-motivated approach to work
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Practical knowledge of HACCP procedures and food safety standards
  • Experience with rostering, ordering, and payroll processes is highly regarded
  • Availability to work across a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
