Description:
Title: Food and Beverage Supervisor
As Restaurant Supervisor at Gowings, you will play a key role in leading the day-to-day floor operations of one of Sydney’s most iconic dining rooms. You’ll uphold Gowings’ high standards of service, presentation, and guest engagement while supporting the management team in driving operational excellence, profitability, and team performance. Your leadership will ensure every service reflects the vibrant, confident, and polished character of QT Sydney.
Guest Experience
Lead the floor during service, ensuring every guest receives an exceptional, memorable Gowings experience.
Anticipate and attend to guest needs promptly, resolving issues with professionalism and QT flair.
Maintain a strong presence on the floor—engaging with guests, building rapport, and encouraging return visits.
Operational Excellence
Supervise daily restaurant operations, ensuring smooth coordination between kitchen and floor teams.
Maintain high standards of presentation across all areas—restaurant floor, service stations, and storage areas.
Ensure compliance with hotel and brand service standards, SOPs, and operational procedures.
Oversee table management and reservations to maximise service flow and revenue potential.
Accurately process and audit end-of-shift reports, revenue, and cover counts.
Team Leadership & Training
Lead by example, fostering a culture of teamwork, accountability, and pride in service.
Support recruitment, onboarding, and training of new team members to deliver consistent performance.
Conduct on-the-job coaching to refine service technique, product knowledge, and guest interaction.
Uphold grooming and presentation standards in line with QT Sydney’s brand image.
Financial & Administrative Duties
Assist in roster forecasting, labour management, and maintaining payroll within budget targets.
Ensure daily cash handling, billing, and POS procedures are accurate and compliant.
Manage stock: ensuring pars are maintained and wastage minimised.
Identify opportunities to upsell and drive revenue through premium guest experiences.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Maintain a strong understanding of OH& S and RSA compliance standards.
Ensure all maintenance or safety issues are reported and actioned immediately.
Secure all stock, equipment, and service areas at the end of trade.
Collaboration & Communication
Foster positive working relationships across F& B, Culinary, Reservations, and Front Office teams.
Actively participate in pre-service briefings, department meetings, and training sessions.
Support the broader hotel team during events or activations when required.
