Key Accountabilities

This role ensures that all guest areas, back-of-house spaces, and exterior surfaces are well-maintained, visually appealing, and in line with brand standards.


  • Perform routine repairs and maintenance across hotel facilities and guest areas.
  • Perform touch-ups and repainting work in guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces, anticipating and attending to guest needs with minimal disruption.
  • Maintain and repair wall finishes, including plastering and drywall patching, undertaking all work in line with trade qualifications and established maintenance systems.
  • Inspect hotel areas regularly and respond promptly to defects, repairs, and guest or inter-departmental requests, following up with appropriate tradespersons or management where required.
  • Coordinate work schedules using the Work Request System, Preventative Maintenance Program, or supervisor instructions, and complete assigned opening and closing duties.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and materials in good condition, continue developing knowledge of maintenance systems, and ensure proper use and care of all operating equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with the maintenance team, maintain positive working relationships, attend meetings, assist other departments when required, and perform any additional duties as directed by management.

What You’ll Bring

  • Previous experience as a Painter or Handyperson in general maintenance or a similar.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills and a guest-focused approach to service.
  • Familiarity with basic repair techniques across carpentry and plumbing (advantageous)
  • Ability to follow safety procedures and WH& S guidelines.
  • Comfortable using maintenance systems and logging work accurately.
  • Physically fit and able to respond quickly to requests across the hotel.
  • Flexible availability, including rotating shifts and weekends.
