About the Role

As a Kitchen Steward at Rydges Sydney Central you’ll play a vital role in supporting our culinary team and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and efficiency in the kitchen. Reporting to the Executive Chef, you’ll be hands-on in a fast-paced environment—taking on a variety of cleaning duties, assisting with kitchen prep, and ensuring WH& S standards are maintained.

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily kitchen operations by completing tasks assigned by the Executive Chef in a timely and efficient manner
• Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic kitchen environment in line with food safety and OH& S standards
• Participate in all training sessions to develop skills and grow within the culinary team
• Minimise waste through careful handling of food and resources
• Foster positive working relationships with kitchen and service team members
• Follow all hotel policies, procedures, and grooming standards while maintaining a professional appearance

Skills & Experience

• Experience working as a kitchen steward in a fast-paced hotel, pub, restaurant or café.
• A good attitude, communication and happy to support the kitchen with a variety of duties.
• Flexible with hours and adaptable to working in different areas of the hotel when required.
• This is a manual role which will require, lifting, standing and cleaning.
