About the Role

We are looking for a skilled Handyperson to join our maintenance team. In this hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for performing routine repairs and general maintenance throughout the hotel, ensuring everything runs smoothly and safely for our guests and team. If you’re a problem-solver with a can-do attitude and a passion for keeping things in top shape, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Accountabilities

• Perform routine repairs and maintenance across hotel facilities and guest areas.
• Respond promptly to guest and departmental requests for assistance or repairs.
• Complete tasks from the maintenance checklist, work request system, and verbal instructions.
• Log and report all defects, repairs, and actions taken accurately.
• Ensure public areas and equipment are safe, clean, and fully operational.
• Liaise with tradespeople or the Assistant Maintenance Manager for complex repairs.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment in line with WH& S guidelines.
• Support other departments with maintenance-related needs and requests.
• Rotate as Shift Operator and attend scheduled meetings and training sessions.

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience in general maintenance or a similar handyperson or maintenance supervisor role.
• Available to work Monday and Tuesday each week.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication skills and a guest-focused approach to service.
• Familiarity with basic repair techniques across plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and WH& S guidelines.
• Comfortable using maintenance systems and logging work accurately.
• Physically fit and able to respond quickly to requests across the hotel.
• Flexible availability, including rotating shifts and weekends.
