About the Role
The GM People, Culture & Safety – Hotels & Resorts leads People, Culture, and Safety for EVT’s largest and fastest-growing division, spanning Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore. As a member of both the People & Culture Leadership Team and the Hotels & Resorts Senior Leadership Team, the role provides operational and strategic leadership that enables growth, transformation, and resilience.

The role is responsible for translating and implementing enterprise strategy within Hotels & Resorts, as well as leading divisional change and strategic projects that strengthen capability, culture, and performance. Success requires combining strategic influence with hands-on delivery — shaping initiatives, producing leader-ready content and insights, and ensuring execution at pace.

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Talent Development

  • Drive the General Manager Development Program as the key vehicle for building capability and succession across the Hotels & Resorts division.
  • Oversee talent management processes, including succession planning, calibration, and development planning.
  • Strengthen leadership maturity by supporting hotel-based leaders to lead performance, culture, and people development effectively.
  • Partner with the Group P& C and Organisational Effectiveness teams to align divisional leadership development with enterprise strategy, and drive talent initiatives such as trainee and apprenticeships for the division.

People Experience (PX) Strategy & Insight

  • Lead the divisional approach to People Experience (PX) using Qualtrics and other tools to gather insights, identify strengths and risks, and influence workforce planning.
  • Build leader capability to interpret PX data and develop targeted, effective action plans.
  • Identify high-performing sites, emerging risks, and engagement trends to inform business decisions.
  • Represent Hotels & Resorts in enterprise PX forums and shape the division’s approach to survey cadence, action planning, and feedback culture, and support initiatives that contribute to external “employer of choice” recognition.

Divisional P& C Leadership

  • Lead a team of P& C Managers and a WHS Manager to deliver consistent, high-impact people and safety support across the division.
  • Align hotel people practices and Group P& C strategy, while adapting to operational realities.
  • Coach and develop P& C leaders to build confidence, credibility, and strong partnering across their hotel portfolios.
  • Share operational insight to inform Group policy, programs, and planning.

Transformation & Dayforce Optimisation

  • Support division-wide change initiatives, including structural change, leadership transformation, and new ways of working.
  • Embed Dayforce as a core business platform by improving leader adoption, simplifying workflows, and driving system-led decision-making.
  • Work with People Operations to improve Dayforce accuracy, reporting, and utilisation across hotel teams.
  • Deliver a leader adoption plan (training, quick-reference guides, dashboards) and hit adoption targets.

Enterprise Contribution

  • Lead or co-lead enterprise-wide people and safety initiatives where Hotels & Resorts expertise is relevant.
  • Act as a connector between divisional realities and enterprise strategy, influencing and shaping future-ready people practices.
  • Pilot initiatives in Hotels & Resorts and enable scalable execution across EVT.

Skills & Experience

  • People Strategy & Workforce Planning – Designing and implementing divisional people strategies aligned with operational needs, enterprise priorities, and sector risk profile.
  • Safety Leadership & WHS Compliance – Applying advanced knowledge of workplace health and safety legislation, risk management frameworks, and psychosocial safety to embed a safety-first culture.
  • Employment Relations – Interpreting and applying employment legislation, awards/agreements, and industrial instruments across multiple jurisdictions (Australia, New Zealand, Singapore).
  • Organisational Development – Implementing leadership development, talent management, and succession planning frameworks that align with enterprise capability goals.
  • Reward & Remuneration – Applying job evaluation methodologies (e.g., Korn Ferry) and leading remuneration, incentive, and recognition frameworks.
  • Change Leadership – Leading large-scale change initiatives, integrating people, culture, and safety considerations into transformation programs.
  • System Optimisation – Embedding Dayforce as a core business platform to drive compliance, efficiency, and data-led decision-making.
  • Risk & Incident Management – Overseeing investigation, reporting, and resolution processes that ensure procedural fairness and minimise organisational risk.
  • Workforce Analytics – Using platforms such as Dayforce and Qualtrics to analyse data, derive insights, and inform people and safety strategies
