About the Role

Nestled in the vibrant heart of North Sydney, Rydges North Sydney is a contemporary hotel perfectly positioned just minutes from the CBD via the new Victoria Cross Metro Station. Newly transformed and home to the modern Wattle Bar + Kitchen, the hotel combines strong business appeal with relaxed harbourside charm. With outstanding transport connectivity and proximity to Sydney’s key commercial and lifestyle precincts, this is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced General Manager to lead a high-profile property and drive its next phase of success.


We are looking for a game changing General Manager that is hungry for their next big challenge! As our chief host and brand ambassador, you’ll be a visible, energising presence - shaping a hotel where regulars feel at home and unforgettable moments happen.


This role is key to delivering EVT’s Hospitality vision. You’ll drive performance, inspire a high energy culture, and lead with purpose. Delivering exceptional service, driving revenue, and keeping operations running at their best, while leading with energy and purpose.


Skills & Experience

  • 8+ years of proven experience in a GM role coming from a high end 4 or 5 start resorts or Hotels.
  • Experience dealing with managed hotels and working alongside owners that are present and involved in the hotel’s operation.
  • Strong sales and operational background with a track record of achieving revenue growth and profitability.
  • Proactive understand of Events, with a strong focus on weddings and marketing.
  • Deep understanding of operational frameworks, risk mitigation, and WH& S compliance.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to be present, visible, and approachable across all areas of the business.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams, drive engagement, and develop talent.
  • Experience in managing budgets, forecasts, and Profit & Loss reports with strategic insight through data.
  • Strong sales and customer experience mindset, with the ability to act as brand ambassador and chief host.
  • Ability to foster community relationships and maintain strong stakeholder networks.
  • Comfortable driving innovation and continuous improvement across service and operations.
  • Committed to upholding company values, ethical standards, and corporate social responsibility.

  • Oversee financial performance, including budgets, forecasts, and cost control.
  • Champion innovation through new revenue and efficiency initiatives.
  • Maintain strong relationships with guests, team members, owners, and the local community.
  • Maximise asset value through effective use of physical space and operational excellence.
  • Uphold EVT’s ethical and business standards, CSR commitments, and workplace values.
