About the Role
Join the team at Rydges Sydney Airport kitchen team working across The Ascot restaurant, Smithy’s Bar and IRD, where modern Australian flavours meet warm hospitality. As a full-time Commis Chef, you’ll support the delivery of beautifully crafted dishes focusing on Australian produce.

Skills & Experience
• Previous experience working in a restaurant or hotel.
• Strong understanding of food safety, hygiene, and WH& S practices.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and follow kitchen procedures.
• Passion for food preparation and willingness to learn across all kitchen areas.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills with a professional attitude.

Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and cook food as directed, including baking, pastry, and butchery tasks.
• Respond promptly to guest needs and maintain a clean, safe kitchen environment.
• Follow all standard operating procedures and minimise food wastage at all times.
• Support a culture of learning and professionalism within the kitchen team.
• Maintain grooming standards and positive relationships with service staff.
• Comply with hotel policies, WH& S guidelines, and maintain strong product knowledge.
