About the role:

We’re always looking for passionate chefs to join our team and elevate our culinary offerings. In this role, you’ll work alongside the Sous Chef to manage all aspects of the kitchen operation, ensuring that food preparation and service meet the highest standards of quality, consistency, and presentation.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining impeccable hygiene standards and practices across the kitchen
  • Training, mentoring, and developing junior kitchen staff to foster a culture of excellence
  • Overseeing the preparation and presentation of food to meet the expectations of our diverse clientele
  • Collaborating with the team across our multifaceted kitchens to ensure smooth operations during peak times and special events

Skills & Experience:

• Passion for excellence and a great attention to detail in every dish you create
• 2-3 years' experience working in fast-paced kitchens, with a proven ability to thrive in a high-pressure environment
• Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with multiple Food & Beverage outlets and the kitchen team
• Strong organization and problem-solving skills to ensure smooth kitchen operations
• Proven success in managing junior staff and leading a team, fostering a supportive and productive environment
• Solid understanding of food cost and production processes, with a focus on maximizing efficiency and minimizing waste
• Computer skills for handling various kitchen systems and documentation
• Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays
• In-depth knowledge of kitchen hygiene and safety procedures, ensuring compliance with all regulations
• Trade cooking qualifications (Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery) are essential
• A strong leadership style and work ethic, with a commitment to maintaining high standards
• Familiarity with hotel occupational health and safety guidelines (WH& S) and a commitment to practicing them in the kitchen
• You must meet the requirements to work in Australia to be considered for the position
