EVT is hiring a Assistant Venue Manager - Moonlight Cinema Sydney in Paddington, NSW. This is a full-time position, and paying $74,400.00–$79,400.00/year.
Remuneration: $1, 420.00 - $1, 520.00 per week + superannuation + staff perks

About the Role
As Assistant Venue Manager, you will work closely with the Venue Manager to support the successful delivery of the Moonlight Cinema experience. You'll play a key role in venue operations, team leadership, guest experience, safety, and commercial performance while helping to lead a seasonal workforce throughout the summer season.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the Venue Manager in delivering day-to-day venue operations, including site set-up and pack-down.
- Assisting with seasonal bump-in and bump-out activities, including production scheduling.
- Leading and developing a team of approximately 30 casual team members.
- Supporting recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of seasonal staff.
- Assisting with Food & Beverage operations, including ordering, inventory control, and invoice processing.
- Supporting sponsorship activations and ensuring contractual deliverables are executed to a high standard.
- Preparing rosters, managing timesheets, and supporting payroll administration.
- Managing cinema content and supporting audio-visual operations, including screen and sound set-up.
- Ensuring compliance with management plans, workplace health and safety requirements, and company policies.
- Providing leadership during predominantly afternoon and evening shifts throughout the season.
This is a fixed-term, full-time contract running from 13 October 2026 to 14 April 2027.
What You’ll Bring
- At least 1 year of experience in a leadership, supervisory, or management role within events, entertainment, hospitality, retail, or Food & Beverage.
- Strong experience delivering exceptional customer service and leading teams.
- Experience managing and motivating a casual or seasonal workforce.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organisational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
- The ability to work autonomously, prioritise competing demands, and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong initiative, attention to detail, and a hands-on approach.
- Confidence learning and using new systems and operational processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience in cinema, events, outdoor entertainment, or venue management will be highly regarded.
Essential Requirements
- Current RSA certification.
- Valid Australian Driver's Licence.
