Tissue Machine Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for technical asset management of mechanical equipment and systems related with Tissue Machine and related sub systems. Technical Asset Management includes Projects, Reliability Strategy Implementation, Maintenance Planning & Execution, OEM relations and key contracts management for asset.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Safety

  • Implement standards for safe engineering practices across the asset.

  • Ensure risk assessments are completed in support of maintenance tasks and development work.

  • Support site safety initiatives and call to actions (CTA).

  • Owner of Yankee Dryer Safety Performance Standard on site.

  • Ensure mechanical equipment and infrastructure compliance (legislative and KC technical Standards)

  • Make sure that Permit to Work process is compliant and effective on the asset.

  • Support other performance standards implementation and sustainability

Maintenance & Reliability

  • Update CMMS for mechanical systems for new assets and reliability strategy changes

  • Make sure that all critical mechanical documents, as-builts and drawings are up to date.

  • Collaborate with Reliability Engineers to deploy Group Reliability strategies to Tissue Machine

  • Develops or optimize preventive / predictive maintenance program for the asset and mechanical systems.

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and legislative standards around mechanical equipment

  • Execute technical investigations for faults, equipment failures and deliver Bad Actor analysis for mechanical equipment and systems

  • Make sure that critical spare parts are defined and stored in the facility

  • Ensure the required documentary evidence is retained in line with regulatory and legislative standards

  • Tissue Machine Mechanical Maintenance Budget Holder

  • Optimize Roll Reliability and Maintenance Strategy

Projects and Asset Support

  • Develop and update Asset Master Plans for Tissue Machine (5 yearly CAPEX Strategy)

  • Support CAPEX Projects, handovers and commissioning

  • Develop and Deliver Small to Mid-Size Engineering Projects

  • Manage Obsolescence proactively

  • Collaborate effectively with Asset Leader and Asset Team.

  • Support OPEX Cycles.

  • Support Digitalization Strategy for Tissue Machine Systems

Contract Management

  • Best in class contract management of inspection and maintenance contracts

  • Contractor Safety & Performance Management Reporting

  • Identify cost saving and value creation opportunities and deliver these initiatives.

  • Focal point for key OEMs (Tissue Machine key vendors)

  • Support Converting and Site Services Assets during their engineers’ absences or holidays

  • Contract Owner for Mechanical, Fitting Contracts and Scaffolding.

Leadership

  • Drive site maintenance strategy and encourage the use of the identified best practices.

  • Support the prioritization and coordination of the activities of the Technicians, SMTs and Contractors ensuring flow to work on daily frequency

  • Act as a role model for crew and technicians, actively coach them during daily activities.

Teamwork

  • Network with others in the maintenance community to develop and implement common maintenance management processes, information systems and techniques.

  • Partnership with other Asset engineers, Reliability and Project Teams

  • Strong stakeholder management with OPS manager, asset leads, EHS and quality.

Continuous improvement

  • Contribute to training and development of maintenance personnel to achieve mill objectives.

  • Continuously assess effectiveness of the site utilities by measuring performance against identified KPIs

  • Support the shut planning and post shut review process to drive continuous improvement.

  • Make performance visible and share this with leadership team periodically.

  • Formal Engineering qualifications – Minimum HND, ideally degree level

  • Extensive mechanical engineering experience at heavy industrial level, preferrable FMCG.

  • Proven experience of Tissue Machine or similar process-based industry

  • Experience of implementing Reliability / Maintenance / TPM improvement programs.

  • Project Management Experience

  • Contract Management Experience

  • Technical knowledge around paper making and pressure vessels/systems.
