TAOS SKI VALLEY, INC. is hiring a Childcare Supervisor in Taos Ski Valley, NM. This is a full-time position.
As the Rio Hondo Learning Center Childcare Supervisor, it is your job to oversee the staff while working alongside the manager and supervisors in a premier guest experience. Provide a fulfilling experience for the Snowsports employees and guests while delivering revenue contributions. Shares our traditions of stewardship and inclusiveness. Inspires deep connections with our mountains and helps Create lifelong Snowsports enthusiasts. Supervisors will each have an area of responsibility within the Snowsports School operations as well as being an integral part of the daily operations. Essential Job Responsibilities: Oversee day-to-day operations of childcare staffSupervise staff in maintaining a clean, safe, fun, and orderly environmentOversee communications with staff and parentsCreate and maintain Childcare Staff schedules based on business volume needsTrain staff on proper biohazard, and PPE protocol when handling bodily fluids (i.e. urine, vomit, blood-borne pathogens, etc.)Be visible and available to staffListen to guests' concerns and needs, then relay the message to appropriate team members.Assist in recruitment, hiring, and trainingConduct weekly safety topic meetingsEnforce and provide input on policy and proceduresCreate a culture and training strategy that will meet the needs of guests and business while maintaining staff morale Independently develop and drive ideas, projects, and business opportunities that are forward-thinking and industry-reachingWilling to positively interact with Taos guests in both positive and negative situationsAbility to initiate and have resolution with guest conflicts, while being mindful of guest, employee, and business needsThe supervisor is in touch with the staff's concerns and needs. They can use tact and diplomacy to negotiate and develop respect and confidence as a leaderLead and develop a culture that supports the mission, purpose, vision, and values of the Snowsports School and Taos Ski ValleyDevelop and maintain strong and positive relationships with all TSV departmentsMust be able to provide and accept constructive criticism and frequent coaching professionally. Demonstrate the ability to successfully lead and engage the Snowsports staff and encourage participation in professional and personal training and developmentAttend, participate, and lead in any meetings when appropriateEffectively and efficiently supervise systems, operations, and provide response to product and service shortfallsReliable attendance on all scheduled workdaysOther duties as assigned Personal Skills: Must demonstrate excellent communication and willingness to work with people in an enjoyable and positive mannerMust maintain a high level of energy and enthusiasmBasic computer skills required and willingness to increase computer skills Organized, professional, and maintain a great attitude during workStrong personal character and commitment to Taos Ski Valley, Inc.s Vision, Purpose, and Values.Provides a guest experience that exceeds the guests expectationsAbility to accept criticism and opportunities gracefully and humbly for growth.Ability to stay positive, focused, and constructive when faced with setbacks, challenges, and while working in an ever-changing environment Qualifications/Knowledge: Education in Related Field (Early Childhood) orEquivalent Professional Experience3+ years working with Children ages 8 weeks 13 yearsStrong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and scheduling systemsWilling and able to complete CPR training (training available through company)Trained in safe, accurate and proper operation of machinery as needed at TSV, Inc.At times may be solely responsible for the care and safety of children enrolled in the Rio Hondo Learning CenterReads, understands, complies, and enforces Taos Ski Valleys employee handbookMaintains personal safety as a top priorityIs responsible for information; emails, newsletters, informational websites, bulletin boards, memos and required meetingsAbility to work a flexible schedule including weekends, holidays, and evenings. Physical Demands of Position Include: Must be able to lift children of all sizes, up to 50 pounds, throughout the day.Must be able to bend and move from standing to squat and kneel positions several times throughout the day.Must be able to walk up and down two flights of stairs several times per shift; must be agile, sure-footed, and cautious on slippery surfaces. Must be prepared to accompany children and instructors outside in changing and potentially extreme weather conditions. Background Check: Positions dealing with children, of safety-sensitive and/or confidential nature, require driving or positions that handle cash may require a background check and MVR check.
