Senior Category Buyer - Stamping (K2)We are looking for a Senior Category Buyer to lead strategic sourcing and ensure supply continuity for our stamping category (K2), supporting operations in TLX1 and MTY 2. This role combines strong analytical capability, supplier management, and execution excellence to drive cost optimization, risk mitigation, and operational reliability.
This is a high-visibility role that partners closely with manufacturing, quality, and procurement teams to deliver results that directly impact business performance.
What will you do?- Ensure full fulfillment of parts within the assigned category by actively managing supplier performance and capacity
- Lead contract negotiations and manage supplier relationships to secure cost, quality, and delivery targets
- Drive and execute a solid pipeline of cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing and cost analysis
- Implement category strategy with a strong focus on productivity, resilience, and risk management
- Support plants with escalations and ensure timely resolution of supply issues
- Monitor supplier performance and lead supplier transitions or resourcing projects when needed
- Maintain strong visibility of the market, including raw material indexes and industry trends, translating them into cost and savings opportunities
- Manage rolling forecast and build clear projections of the category's P& L impact
- Develop and apply cost models, benchmarking, and should-cost analysis, especially for stamping processes
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including UPM, Quality, Procurement, and Category Management to ensure alignment and execution
What are the key skills we are looking for?- Procurement negotiation at an advanced level, with proven ability to secure favorable agreements
- Strong contract management and supplier relationship management
- Advanced cost analysis, including cost modeling and benchmarking
- Deep understanding of manufacturing processes, preferably stamping
- Strong problem solving and ability to manage ambiguity
- Conflict management and stakeholder alignment across different levels
- Analytical mindset with strong data-driven decision making
- Clear and effective communication with both internal stakeholders and suppliers
- High level of ownership, resilience, and focus on continuous improvement
What qualifications will make you successful?- 5+ years of experience in procurement, preferably in direct materials
- Experience in stamping, metal mechanics, or related categories is highly preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electronics, or related field. Business or Supply Chain degrees also considered
- Advanced English is required
- Proven experience working with cross-functional teams and influencing middle and upper management
- Strong financial acumen, with ability to understand cost drivers and P& L impact
- Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working independently
