What will you do:

We are seeking a skilled Certification Engineer to work with our Power Products and ASCO Line of Business offers. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the certification of our innovative solutions and maintaining certification of our existing offerings. Responsibilities:

Certification Planning and Execution:

  • Lead project teams through planning and execution of certification efforts, collaborating with regulatory bodies and industry organizations.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant certifications and standards for power products ATS solutions.
  • Define and implement processes to ensure adherence to industry standards and regulatory requirements.


Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Collaborate closely with product managers, design engineers, and architects to understand system requirements and design effective certification approaches to meet project timelines.
  • Work with development teams and certification body representatives to address findings and ensure certification and ongoing compliance.


Automatic Transfer Switch Expertise:

  • Apply specialized knowledge in ATS technologies to understand end-to-end system
    functionality, security, and performance.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and evolving certification requirements.


Quality Assurance:
  • Implement and enforce quality practices to ensure that solutions meet the highest
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance validation and certification processes


Documentation and Reporting:

  • Update product files and reports and establish test programs to support certification projects to accommodate product changes and innovations.
  • Update product manuals and labels to maintain product certification and address product changes as they occur.
  • Maintain detailed documentation to support certification audits and inquiries.


Regulatory Compliance:

  • Interpret and apply relevant standards to new and existing products, ensuring feasibility and compliance.
  • Stay informed about regulatory changes and updates relevant to Transfer Switches, Switchboards, and other commercial building products.


General:
  • Ensure proactive compliance with emerging standards and regulations.
  • Understand the changes in certification standards and assist in evolving partnerships with certification bodies

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Proven experience in a technical role focused on validation and certification
  • Experience working with certification standards, background in energy management is a plus
  • Technical knowledge of Automatic Transfer Switches, Switchboards, and product safety regulations for Emergency Systems.
  • Familiarity with various certification bodies (UL, CSA, IEC, RETIE, CCC, NFPA)
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to lead design teams through certification effectively.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external certification bodies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
