Description:

Schneider Electric is seeking a dynamic individual to serve as an Advanced Manufacturing Engineer responsible for delivering automation & technology improvements to our molding supply chain processes across the North American Region. In this role, using advanced technology, you will be responsible for identifying and driving improvements, improving efficiency, & increasing capacity of existing molding processes. You will also be responsible for the design and development of new assembly lines and equipment to support those new and existing processes.

This is an exciting role that will offer much opportunity to grow and learn in a highly technical field. This individual will be tasked with multiple assignments regarding processes spread across the region.

Tasks include:

• Ownership of all new capacity investments to deploy the best manufacturing processes

• From identified capacity gap or technology roadmap driver, develop automation solution from Best Available Techniques to provide a value-added solution.

• Develop automation concept specifications and budgetary targets necessary for RFQ.

• Participate in quotation and supplier selection of OEM Machine Tool Builder (internal or external)

• Provide technical oversight and adherence to project timeline to deliver equipment to targeted timeline.

• Perform OEM Machine Tool Builder Site Acceptance Test and validation of process | equipment performance prior to equipment shipment.

• Support process equipment commissioning at supplier site as required.

• Perform Schneider Electric Factory Acceptance once process equipment has been commissioned at the supplier and ensure all supplier contractual agreements are met.

• Ensure all appropriate process equipment project documentation is captured and stored in the appropriate digital system for knowledge retention.

• Collaborate with Global SC Deployment and Industrialization teams in the evolution of the technology applied and documented Best Available Techniques.

• Partner with Purchasing and Manufacturing Plants in the construction and evolution of the technology roadmap that delivers technical productivity and supports P& L improvement on the product offers.

• Continuously improvement installed base of automation equipment and improve existing processes.

• Upgrade and replacement of legacy automation systems to current offers if the process architectures is sustainable and the investments drive solid financial payback.

• Provide direct troubleshooting support and training for supplier resources.

• Identify and implement improvement projects regarding various industrial manufacturing processes. Productivity improvement will be highly regarded.

Candidate required to travel throughout the continent 25%-50% levels with some projects requiring slightly heavier percentages. Travel will be closely tied to project timelines and concentrated around SAT / FAT periods.

What qualifications will make you successful for this role?

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (or other STEM) Major from an accredited University or equivalent is required. Technical Certification and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree

• 5+ years Mecahnical / Tooling / Manufacturing / Industrialization Engineering Experience in an Automated Industrial Environment

• Direct experience using line design methodologies

• Proficiency in Safety Engineering w/Exposure to Automated Machinery Safet
