The Senior Portfolio Analyst coordinates with internal and external parties to ensure pledge assets meet the needs of the company and customers. In this role you will demonstrate strong attention to detail, ability to exercise sound discretion, and have an aptitude for cross-functional collaboration.

What You'll Do

  • Assists Supervisor in ensuring that brokerage statements are received and entered into the system in a timely manner. Assists and guides Portfolio Analysts in following up with external parties to retrieve missing value statements. Helps provide upkeep to all related reporting and contact lists. Helps identify transactions that have become unsecured and interacts with Supervisor and senior management to ensure that soft default / default letters are issued in a timely manner. Reviews the work of Portfolio Analysts before any correspondence is initiated with Senior Management regarding these transactions.
  • Leverages internal reporting tools to identify data discrepancies within the system. Ensures all booked loans continue to meet collateral requirements and investigates potential system issues on behalf of the loan teams. Works with related internal parties to resolve these issues via system adjustments, keeping track of moving or in-progress collateral transactions, creating IT tickets for systemic problems, and/or reporting the loan’s status to Senior Management.
  • Assists in the preparation and maintenance of all Portfolio Management reporting. Is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of these reports that will be published and distributed to Senior Management, loan teams and other departments. Facilitates the Collateral Management Meeting Report and records minutes accordingly.
  • Reviews collateral values within approval limits to make sure the Administrative System aligns with value statements and that provenance is valid. Provides signing authority on behalf of the Portfolio Management Department via Secondary Reviews and Snapshots for loans set to fund. Offers guidance and feedback to New Business and Renewal Departments to ensure collateral management funding requirements are met. Helps to ensure company guidelines are broadly and strictly enforced throughout this process.
  • Supports Multi-Life Loan Program as needed. This may include data entry, data clean up or reconciliation, confirming details of legal documents, verifying sensitive personal information of parties to the deal, and other underwriting support.
  • Manages custody of all collateral items in safe to ensure they are properly accounted for. Some of the items in the safe are Letters of Credit, Policies, and other tangible collateral. Daily tracking and quarterly inventory are required. Also, leads the team in occasionally confirming authenticity with external banks. Updates, maintains, and manages digital documentation for Letters of Credit across all Portfolio Management reporting, Snapshots, Letter of Credit Approval forms, and system records. Provides signing authority for Letter of Credit Approval forms on behalf of the Portfolio Management Department. Processes and informs loan teams and Credit Department of incoming mail that may alter, nullify, or replace existing Letters of Credit.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2-3 years of experience; preferably in Financial Services or Insurance industries
  • Attention to detail
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite

Compensation

The estimated hourly rate for this role is $29.00 - $33.33 along with eligibility to earn an annual bonus. Actual salaries may vary based on several factors, such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills and experience.
