SUMMARY

The Compensation Manager is responsible for the strategic design, implementation, and management of the organization's
compensation and reward programs, ensuring they are fair, competitive, aligned with business goals, and compliant with all
applicable laws and regulations.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Designs and implements competitive total reward strategies and programs (performance-based salary, corporate and sales bonus programs, and recognition) for employees at all levels that attract, motivate and retain top talent. Relies upon and integrates data analytics into the strategic process to optimize decision-making. Ensures the total rewards framework aligns with business goals and fosters a culture of high performance.
  • Partners with business units, HR Business Partners and/or the Talent Acquisition team to conduct job evaluations, to advise on pay decisions, and to develop and implement career ladders to support employee growth and development within the organization.
  • Oversees the execution of the annual merit and bonus process. Partners with the HR Vice President and Director to develop a merit and bonus budget proposal and presentation for executive leadership and Subaru Corporation executives. Partners with HR and IT technical teams to ensure the compensation module is accurately configured for compensation planning. Partners with HR Business Partners and leaders throughout the organization to ensure compensation planning is executed fairly and accurately. Designs and executes appropriate audit and calibration procedures to ensure accuracy and fairness. Partners with payroll team to ensure timely payment.
  • Partners with HR Leadership Team to develop and execute a comprehensive pay equity strategy. Designs and implements policies and practices that proactively ensure equitable pay across all job levels, functions, and demographics. Oversees and executes enterprise-wide formal pay equity studies, statistical analyses, and audit procedures to regularly assess and ensure internal equity is maintained.
  • Designs and executes a comprehensive pay transparency strategy, including the development of clear, accessible communications that explain how pay is determined, the criteria used in compensation decisions, and the data sources that inform pay practices-empowering employees with greater understanding and trust in the organization's compensation philosophy.
  • Designs and administers a formal enterprise-wide reward and recognition program, incorporating peer-to-peer recognition, service anniversary awards, and performance-based recognition to foster a culture of appreciation, engagement, and high performance. Develops engagement strategy to promote the program and to ensure fair and consistent use across the organization.
  • Supervises the compensation team, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities. Ensures the team delivers high-quality services and meets organizational goals.
  • Conducts market research and benchmarking analyses to ensure the organization's total rewards strategies and programs remain competitive. Analyzes compensation data and market trends to make informed recommendations for adjustments and improvements.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state and local compensation laws and regulations.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Serves as information resource for employees and retirees regarding the organization's total reward programs.

REQUIRED SKILLS & PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS
  • Educational and Professional Experience: Bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or related field or equivalent experience in lieu of degree. Minimum of eight (8) years of relevant work experience in employee and executive compensation planning, driving total rewards strategy at an organization of approximately 500+ employees, and people leadership.
  • Advanced knowledge of compensation program design and ability to implement compensation programs as they relate to business needs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with and present to all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to manage problem situations in a professional manner.
  • Ability to handle a high volume workload and multiple priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to manage and adapt readily to change.
  • Thorough knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint applications and knowledge of Oracle cloud environments.
  • Non Clinical/CCP - Certified Compensation Professional Certification preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Hybrid Role: Remote work 2 days per week (After 90 Days Onboarding)
  • Required Travel: 10%

COMPENSATION: The recruiting base salary range for this full-time position is $114800 - $154000 / year. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Additionally, this role is bonus-eligible, with a target bonus percentage that provides an opportunity to earn even more based on your performance. (Internal Job Grade: M2)
