Position Overview:

The Community Private Banker is responsible for developing, managing, and expanding a portfolio of small business client relationships with annual revenue between $5MM-$25MM, while delivering a high-touch, private banking experience. This role serves as a trusted advisor across clients' business financial needs, with a focus on deposits, lending, treasury and cash management solutions, and referrals to wealth/trust, and specialty banking partners.

The Community Private Banker is expected to generate new profitable relationships through proactive business development, community involvement, networking, referrals, and centers of influence. This role works collaboratively with internal partners to deliver customized, relationship-based solutions consistent with Peapack Private Bank & Trust's client-focused culture, service standards, and compliance requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Originate new business opportunities consisting of loans, deposits, treasury management and wealth and develop, manage, and grow a portfolio of small business client client relationships through proactive calling efforts, networking, referrals, and centers of influence
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, delivering proactive, responsive, and consultative client experience
  • Manage and prepare responses to Requests for Proposal (RFPs) for nonprofit and municipal organizations.
  • Proactively work with Community Banking Underwriting team throughout loan process on loans ranging in size from $500k-$ 3 Million, including creation of deal screen memo, term sheet preparation, client dialogue, negotiation, and closing process.
  • Maintain a prospect list of 25-50 high quality business targets within the market at all times
  • Utilize the bank's Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system to document client interactions, manage pipeline activity, track referrals, and support effective relationship development
  • Maintain current knowledge of applicable banking products, services, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including BSA/AML, CRA, Reg. DD, Reg. CC, privacy, and FDIC insurance requirements
  • Participate in community, professional, and business development activities to enhance the bank's market presence and strengthen referral networks
  • Support a collaborative and inclusive team environment while modeling the bank's standards for integrity, accountability, and client care

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience developing new client relationships, growing deposits and loans, and meeting or exceeding sales, service, and referral goals
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver a private banking-style, relationship-based client experience
  • Working knowledge of personal and business banking products, consumer and residential lending, treasury or cash management services, and wealth management concepts
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify client and prospect needs, recommend appropriate solutions, and resolve questions or concerns professionally and effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, listening, and written/verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively and tactfully with clients, prospects, community partners, and colleagues at all levels
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and follow through on commitments, supported by experience using CRM tools and Microsoft Office to manage client relationships, pipeline activity, and referrals
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, adaptability, accountability, and commitment to client confidentiality

The approximate pay range for this position is $97, 692 to $115, 000, plus an opportunity to earn performance-based incentives. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including, but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as geographic location.
