What you will do

The Category Senior Manager is responsible for
  • Developing robust global category strategies, aligned with regions and key stakeholders in EM Make, Network, Planning, Quality etc to deliver robust 3 year plan and savings pipeline
  • Global SRM: Key global supplier relationships, contracting & pricing negotiations. Building long term EM network to deliver our cost, cash and service performance targets and meeting our innovation needs.
  • Capability building for the category across should cost modelling, benchmarking, using e-Sourcing, right buying model assessments etc.
  • Meeting Procurement targets and key KPIs of savings, inflation, PPV etc, contributing to the overall budgeting targets

Key Responsibilities:
  • Defines Category Strategy for global category
    • Analyzes category and defines category profile, incl. risk assessment, supply base assessment and SRM strategy
    • Benchmarks category practices to identify improvement initiatives
    • Builds category specific strategic plan in alignment with the regions / countries and aligns strategic plan to financial budget and global business strategies in alignment with global Category Manager and business stakeholders
    • Initiates internal and external analysis (industry and supplier)
    • Consolidates requirements, acting as a business partner for business / other functions, supporting the alignment and optimization of specification with the business / other functions
    • Develops short term and long term savings delivery pipeline
    • Align on EM network in alignment with internal Make vs Buy strategy
    • Is accountable for efficient alignment enablement / activation of negotiation outcomes by increasing the level of automated content within the category, instructing on new content updates and by providing clear instructions about the category strategy to enable compliance


  • Manages commercial supplier relationship management with key/major suppliers within the defined category scope
    • Maintains and manages relationship with suppliers identified as key suppliers in the selected category and region, monitors performance and leads contracts & pricing negotiations of key strategic suppliers
    • Supports the identification of potential contract improvement opportunities and re-negotiations


  • Manages innovation pipeline/NPD pipeline of all key EM projects and is responsible for scouting for new EMs and developing EM capability library and has very close relationships with R& D, Network, and cross functional brand development teams.
    • Develops and deploys preferred EM list by technology, aligned cross-functionally.
    • Leads supplier development activities; sets up cross-functional review meetings with key strategic suppliers in order to improve performance
    • Is accountable for supplier scouting, selection and development


  • Manages relationship with key stakeholders and business representatives
    • Acts as escalation point for category related issues and drives resolution
    • Achieves "buy-in" from key stakeholders for major procurement initiatives
    • Collaborates and aligns with global / regional / local procurement teams as applicable
    • Is a business partner to the regional procurement teams to create and outline contribution for budget improvements

What we are looking for
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • Experience: 10 years of Procurement experience is required. Must have prior experience in External manufacturing/Contract Manufacturing Procurement and must have Direct Material Procurement experience (either in Chemicals or Packaging Procurement). Experience with OTC/Regulated products will be considered an asset.
  • Language skills: Proficiency in English is required.
  • Proficient in core procurement skills (Spend Management: Category Management and Supplier Management) and project/change management methodologies.
  • Strong business acumen with expertise in contracting, understanding regulatory, legal, compliance and commercial elements and strong negotiation skills
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
  • Strong influencing skills with ability to see issues from multiple viewpoints and understand differing needs of stakeholders (e.g., business, Finance, Procurement LT, Marketing, R& D, Supply Chain); has "presence".
  • Strong stakeholder management skills needed, ability to navigate matrix organization.


What's in it for you

Annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges:

$152, 150.00 - $214, 800.00

This takes into account a number of factors including work location, the candidate's skills, experience, education level & other job-related factors.
