Senior Director - Operations Business Architecture

This position reports into VP Supply Chain Systems Ops, Enablement and Continuity and is based in either Summit, NJ USA or Rotkreuz, Switzerland.

Role reports to: VP Supply Chain Systems Ops, Enablement and Continuity

Location: Summit, NJ USA or Rotkreuz, Switzerland.

Travel %: Up to 25%

Pay: In the United States the annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges from $182, 000 to $315, 100.

What you will do

The Senior Director of Operations Business Architecture is a strategic leader responsible for the architecture standard for business capabilities, aligning functional strategies, architectures and blueprints into a cohesive roadmap of initiatives to drive organizational transformation across process, persona, data, tech and digital domains.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a business architecture framework that aligns functions' and value streams' capability roadmaps with the organization's strategic goals and objectives.
  • Chair and facilitate a Business Architecture community of practice, in collaboration with transformation teams.
  • Collaborate with functional leadership and architects to define the cross-functional value streams, associated capability blueprints and roadmaps.
  • Orchestrate and own the organization-wide blueprint and roadmap with clarity on priorities.
  • Establish and enforce architecture standards and governance, including capability modeling and roadmapping, and ensure adherence across projects.
  • Monitor industry trends and best practices to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in business architecture.
  • Mentor and other architects and business analysts in best practices and methodologies related to business architecture and embed into project teams.
  • Collaborate with Process Owners, Tech & Data Enterprise Architecture, and Product owners and DTO Data Architects to ensure alignment between business capability, digital and technology solution/product and information/data and roadmaps.
  • Understand and communicate new enterprise standards to Business Architecture COP
  • Measure and report on the performance of business architecture initiatives, adjusting strategies as needed to meet changing business demands.
  • Serve as a key liaison between business and Tech & Data, ensuring clear communication and understanding of architecture initiatives.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of business architecture projects, ensuring timely and successful delivery.

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field; Master's degree is highly desirable.
  • At least 7-10 years of experience in business architecture, enterprise architecture, or related fields, with a focus on strategic alignment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels and providing advice and guidance to senior leadership.
  • Experience with enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF), process modeling techniques (e.g., BPMN, UML), and information modeling, including ability to coach junior and/or federated architects.
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more supply chain functions (Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, Quality) or value streams (Plan to Produce, Make to Release, Order to Cash, Source to Pay)
  • Demonstrated ability to guide a team through the development of a project concept from ideation, through business case, to launch.
  • Prior experience leading complex projects and initiatives in a dynamic environment, with preference for experience in digital transformation.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams, including matrix and/or leadership of peers via influence.

Desired Qualifications
  • Certification in enterprise architecture and/or business process management.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and practices, including Agile project management tools.
  • Familiarity with digital transformation strategies and how emerging technologies are shaping transformation.
  • Familiarity with change management and organizational development initiatives.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Active participation and thought leadership in professional architecture communities or organizations.
