What you will do

The Senior Scientist will be responsible for conducting clinical research directed toward both upstream innovation and claims substantiation for Kenvue Oral Care R& D. The selected candidate will seek out internal and external opportunities to grow our scientific thought leadership, taking a lead role in development of new clinical capabilities to assess technologies and products in collaboration with cross-functional teams. The candidate will stay up-to-date with the latest scientific advancements and technologies to inform research strategies and approaches. The Senior Scientist will design and develop foundational studies to advance and progress key innovation pillars, such as the connection of oral health to systemic disease and aging. Additionally, the Senior Scientist will develop industry-leading clinical approaches to generate new, scientifically robust claims. Intellectual Property will be patented when feasible. Results of research will be communicated regularly, internally to partners and leaders, and externally at appropriate scientific conferences and professional engagements. Publication of scientific discoveries is encouraged to help share the outcomes of our research initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

A minimum of a Master's degree with 4 years of applied research experience OR a PhD with 2 years of applied research experience is required. A degree in Biology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Pharmaceutical Sciences or a related major is required. Experience with the following is required:

• Proficiency in computer software packages

• Human subjects research, preferably on oral hygiene products
• Demonstrated understanding of clinical and in situ study design
• Ability to analyze data and summarize and present findings to cross-functional partners
• Familiarity with microbiological concepts and analysis methodologies such as DNA/RNA-based sequencing approaches and immunological biomarker analysis
• Ability to translate complex scientific topics into meaningful insights and actionable strategies
• Ability to work independently and on a team
• Excellent oral and written communication skills and strong presentation skills

Previous experience with the following is preferred:

• Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Ability to collaborate with multiple cross-functional partners
• Peer reviewed publication and IP submission process with a proven track record of conducting and publishing impactful research in peer-reviewed journals

• Assessment of innovative technologies through laboratory-based or clinical research
• Ability to conduct literature research and summarize and present findings
• Ownership of project budgets and external vendor contract review

This position may require up to 10% overall travel.

What's in it for you

Annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges:

$100, 300.00 - $141, 600.00

This takes into account a number of factors including work location, the candidate's skills, experience, education level & other job-related factors.
