What you will do The Global Media Procurement Director is responsible for leading a team of Regional Media Procurement leaders and partnering closely with the business to develop fit-for-purpose Media Procurement strategies for all regions and local markets. This role is also responsible for leading the global commercial relationship with our Media agencies and Global Media platform partners.
This role involves defining and implementing innovative sourcing strategies to optimize the Global Media category, managing stakeholder relationships to enhance cost savings and overall value, and ensuring compliance with established policies and processes. A deep understanding of the Global Media landscape and effective collaboration with Media agencies are crucial for successful Global Media sourcing and management. Additionally, strong commercial and contractual negotiation skills, agency relationship management, and global platform partnerships will help drive incremental value, extended ROI and achievement of our business growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the negotiation of the overall commercial terms with our Global Media Agency and Joint Business Plans with Global Media Platform partners
- Define and implementation of the global category strategy for the Media category, ensuring alignment with all regions and overall business objectives.
- Conduct comprehensive analysis of the category, including risk assessments and evaluations of the supplier base to define its profile.
- Benchmark category practices to identify improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Lead Global Media Agency mid-year and year-end performance evaluations; developing action plans as appropriate
- Drive supplier selection through fact-based negotiations, establishing quality, cost-effective contracts with key vendors
- Manage relationships with key suppliers, monitoring their performance to ensure compliance with contract terms and quality standards
- Act as a key point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring their business needs are met and aligning media procurement initiatives with marketing strategies
- Develop and implement Global Media procurement strategies aimed at optimizing cost efficiency and driving innovation in media buying
- Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for enhancing media procurement processes
- Support cross-functional sourcing teams in strategic sourcing projects and provide strategic guidance on media planning and buying decisions to maximize ROI
What we are looking for Required Qualifications
- 9 to 15 years total business experience in Marketing and/or Media
- Specific and deep knowledge of the Global Media marketplace
- Strong knowledge of Media agencies, Global Media platform partners, eCommerce, Retailer Media, Media Planning and Buying processes, Media audience measurement, 3rd party data, data taxonomy, media benchmarking, and Agency Performance Management
- University/bachelor's degree or Equivalent in relevant field
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain relationships with media agencies and partners
- Expertise in building and maintaining strong relationships with key Media partners and suppliers to ensure quality service delivery and compliance
- Experience in Media Investment
- Ability to stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement in Media Procurement processes
- Ability to develop and implement strategic procurement initiatives that align with overall business and marketing objectives
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in Marketing Procurement, demonstrating a strong background in Media and/or Agencies sourcing
- Experience in developing and implementing Media Procurement strategies
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to optimize Media Procurement processes and drive cost savings
- Strategic thinker with a deep understanding of media landscape and emerging trends in digital and traditional media channels
- Ability to manage supplier contracts
- Knowledge of market trends and pricing in the Global Media industry
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain agency and partner relationships
What's in it for you - Annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges from $144, 000.00 - $247, 825.00. This takes into account a number of factors including work location, the candidate's skills, experience, education level & other job-related factors.
