Role reports to: Global Head of Essential Health Packaging R& D
Location: North America, United States, New Jersey, Summit

What you will do - Lead and execute Essential Health (EH) pipeline aligned to the global segment strategies for superior consumer experience through packaging and engages the cross-functional team to follow through.
- This role will be an integral member of the Listerine (Oral Care) Category Brand Development Team (BDT), tasked with influencing and shaping the Oral Care Packaging strategy and portfolio.
- Shape project brief, develops strategic direction and packaging formats together with EH BDTs delivering superior total product consumer experience with elevated aesthetics, quality and performance.
- Lead a diverse team of Packaging developers and engineers, develops goals and success criteria for the team.
- Partner closely with broader Global Packaging teams of Innovation, Sustainability & Experience; and Global Packaging Operations team in supplier selection, embedding technical rigor.
- Partner closely with Global Packaging Innovation, Sustainability & Experience team to fuel upstream innovation, and embedding packaging sustainability playbook / guidelines into development of packaging specifications that delivers Kenvue's sustainability commitments.
- Partner closely with CBI, Design, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality and ESG leaders in delivering End-to-End execution excellence.
- Provide direction, management, and technical expertise in technology screening, product/process development, and implementation of a range of projects covering new package development, materials selection, manufacturing process/site changes, and continuous improvement opportunities.
- Influence department resource and budget allocation.
- Recruit, train, and develop staff and conducts performance management to ensure team effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities - Collaborate with cross-functional teams worldwide dedicated to the Listerine (Oral Care) category, including Consumer Science, Upstream Innovation, Material Centre, Quality and Technical Operations, among others.
- Work closely within the BDT, further developing global brand packaging strategies, providing guidance to Listerine packaging developers across all regions to ensure alignment on a consistent packaging development plan and specifications worldwide.
- Partner with the cross-functional teams across the globe assigned to the Listerine (Oral Care) category, which include Consumer Science, Upstream Innovation, Digital Capabilities, Quality and Technical Operations teams to name a few, and align to BDT strategies and requirements to drive packaging specification and execution consistency.
- Challenge status quo, fueling outside-in approach and right-first-time through iterative prototyping, creating problem solving and digital first methodologies.
- Leverage digital tools such as CAD, modelling & simulation to streamline package development and guide the team to deliver right-first-time initiatives.
- Pilot & deploy process optimization opportunities for packaging development. Collaborates with cross-functional team to identify opportunities and drive projects forward.
- Manages the identification of new materials and structures, and plans studies with the appropriate cross-functional team to validate consumer experience impacts of the new changes.
- Manages development process robustness for new products from research and development to manufacturing and their translation into specifications.
- Maintains accountability for best practices throughout product and process design. Implements methods for measuring performance to monitor the technical integrity of products.
- Monitor and set up a high-efficiency team and lead team members to deliver innovation project pipeline.
What We Are Looking ForRequired Qualifications - Education: BS / MS in Packaging /Mechanical / Polymer/Plastics/Chemical Engineering,
- Work experience: 8+ years (for MS/PhD Candidate) / 10+ years of new packaging development / technology transfer in luxury beauty/high-end CPG companies
- Business acumen linking job to be done with key results to drive impact
Capabilities - Technical proficiency to shape team deliverables and assess/ manage risk. Expertise in understanding of packaging development work process and packaging molding technologies.
- Confident and articulate communicator (both written and verbal), with the ability to convey and present complex information to others clearly and logically
- Strong leadership and critical thinking skills, sets performance standards Ability to lead team delivering innovation project pipeline, managing multiple simultaneous priorities.
- Knowledge of external vendor ecosystem and capabilities. Knowledge of new packaging industry trends.
- Ability to continuously develop self and team for technical and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a matrix organization, managing multiple complex projects, priorities, and systems simultaneously. Able to re-prioritize in an ever-changing environment
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to build effective working relationships at all levels in the organization
What's in it for you Annual base salary for new hires in this position ranges:
$152, 150.00 - $214, 800.00
This takes into account a number of factors including work location, the candidate's skills, experience, education level & other job-related factors.
