As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within our Commercial and Investment Bank, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Job Responsibilities
- Validate reusable API and UI components through automated testing in QA environments to ensure accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable regression test suites to support robust automation frameworks.
- Write and execute automated test scripts; perform manual testing to cover scenarios that cannot be automated.
- Conduct Accessibility (ADA) testing to verify compliance with accessibility standards.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to understand requirements and ensure quality across software releases.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines to enable continuous testing and faster feedback.
- Advocate and contribute to QA best practices, continuously enhancing testing processes and standards.
- Document test strategies, detailed test cases, and test results clearly and effectively.
- Promote a team culture that values diversity, inclusion, opportunity, and mutual respect.
Required Qualifications, Skills and capabilities
- Formal education or certification in software engineering concepts, with at least 3 years of practical experience.
- Minimum of 3 years experience as a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), combining automation and manual testing expertise.
- Strong proficiency in test automation using modern frameworks.
- Expertise in manual testing for exploratory testing and edge case validation of end-to-end features.
- Solid understanding of test planning, including corner case validation for complex features.
- Deep knowledge of component-based development and validation of reusable front-end components.
- Hands-on experience with contemporary automation and testing strategies.
- Proven ability to maintain and execute comprehensive regression test suites.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security best practices.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, demonstrating empathy and respect in a team-oriented environment.
- Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality software.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills
- Familiarity with accessibility (ADA) testing tools and compliance practices.
- Experience working in fast-paced Agile teams and collaborating across engineering and product functions.
- Curious, adaptable, and proactive in learning new tools, technologies, and testing approaches.
- Exposure to cloud technologies and environments.
