As a Global Technical Product Owner in Real Time Payments, you are an integral part of the team that innovates new product offerings and leads the end-to-end product life cycle. As a core leader, you are responsible for acting as the voice of the customer and developing profitable products that provide customer value. Utilizing your deep understanding of how to get a product off the ground, you guide the successful launch of products, gather crucial feedback, and ensure top-tier client experiences. With a strong commitment to scalability, resiliency, and stability, you collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products that exceed customer expectations.

Offering 24/7 availability combined with never-before-seen speed and transparency, real-time payments are at the forefront of a digital payments revolution in the U.S. JP Morgan Chase has established a leadership position in building out the nation's first instant payments system, US Real-Time Payments (RTP). We are working to expand our real-time payments channel enablement, commercialization, and grow the product in collaboration with the FedNow Service and The Clearing House.

Job responsibilities
  • Develops a product strategy and product vision that delivers value to customers
  • Manages discovery efforts and market research to uncover customer solutions and integrate them into the product roadmap
  • Owns, maintains, and develops a product backlog that enables development to support the overall strategic roadmap and value proposition
  • Builds the framework and tracks the product's key success metrics such as cost, feature and functionality, risk posture, and reliability
  • Acts as a subject matter expert and drives product design, architecture and influences technical teams on best practices and standards
  • Works on any product feature assigned and deliver within timelines, ensuring all product cadences (requirements, scope document, business case, unhappy paths, analytics plan) are met in a timely and thoughtful manner
  • Demonstrates end to end design thinking including implications on Customer service, operations, Channels (API, File Based, and Online Interface based), design the customer journey map
  • Communicates effectively with stakeholders at all levels to present technical concepts, gather feedback and influence decision-making processes
  • Thinks through global system performance, reliability, scalability, service levels, and responsiveness of solutions
  • Collaborates across the organization including Tech, architecture, marketing, different product teams, operations, ability to see how the solution pieces fit together
  • Demonstrates high attention to detail, and exemplary quality, thoroughness and completeness of work product

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • 8+ years of experience or equivalent expertise in technical product ownership or a relevant domain area
  • Advanced knowledge of the product development life cycle, design, and data analytics
  • Proven ability to lead product life cycle activities including discovery, ideation, strategic development, requirements definition, and value management
  • Payments experience required
  • Technical background and proficiency in all product cadences
  • Commercialization acumen, strong analytics, outside-in competitive view
  • Self-starter, team player, curious and eager to learn, flexible, operate with high sense of urgency and integrity
  • High level of organization, able to thrive in a dynamic environment handling multiple projects, deadlines, and stakeholders (in different markets/ time zones)
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, ability to map out visual workflows, journey maps, high level system interactions to engineering and business leaders

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Prior experience working in a highly matrixed, complex organization
  • Proficient in conducting end to end analysis to identify issues and hands-on troubleshooting
  • Strong analytics and technical problem-solving experience
  • Fraud and Sanctions experience
  • Instant payments, preferred
