As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate sector in Infrastructure Platforms team, you apply deep knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Continue to evolve your technical and cross-functional knowledge outside of your aligned domain of expertise.

The Retail and Corporate Networks has begun a multiyear effort to modernize the firm's network infrastructure in our Corporate and Retail Branch locations. This effort includes the use of internet as transport, SD-WAN, and cellular technologies as well as leveraging SaaS based, AIOps enabled management platforms. As such, we are seeking a Lead Infrastructure Engineer experienced in implementing optimizing and managing LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and Wi-Fi solutions

Job responsibilities
  • Applies technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope. Lead the design and deployment of LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and Wireless solutions.
  • Drives a workstream or project consisting of one or more infrastructure engineering technologies. Install configuration, and maintain network hardware and software.
  • Works with other platforms to architect and implement changes required to resolve issues and modernize the organization and its technology processes. Ensure network designs adhere to industry best practices and security standards.
  • Executes creative solutions for the design, development, and technical troubleshooting for problems of moderate complexity
  • Strongly considers upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications and advises on mitigation actions. Ensure network security measures are in place and up to date, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
  • Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
  • Create and maintain network architecture and design documentation.
  • Conduct capacity planning and network performance analysis to ensure scalability and reliability
  • Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to implement and enforce security policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience
  • Deep knowledge of one or more areas of infrastructure engineering such as hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience, or performance assessments. Extensive experience with LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, and Wi-Fi technologies.
  • Deep knowledge of one specific infrastructure technology and scripting languages (e.g., Scripting, Python, etc.). Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.
  • Drives to continue to develop technical and cross-functional knowledge outside of the product
  • Deep knowledge of cloud infrastructure and multiple cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds. Proven ability to lead and manage network projects and teams.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Experience with cloud networking and hybrid cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with network automation and orchestration tools.
  • Experience with network performance monitoring and management tools.
  • Knowledge of ITIL or other IT service management frameworks. Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCDP, CWNA, or equivalent are highly desirable.
