As a Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bank's Prime Financial Services Group, you lead a technical area and drive impact within teams, technologies, and projects across departments. Utilize your in-depth knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to drive multiple complex projects and initiatives, while serving as a primary decision maker for your teams and be a driver of innovation and solution delivery.
Job responsibilities - Leads multiple technology and process implementations across departments to achieve firmwide technology objectives
- Directly manages multiple areas with strategic transactional focus
- Provides leadership and high-level direction to teams while frequently overseeing employee populations across multiple platforms, divisions, and lines of business
- Acts as the primary interface with senior leaders, stakeholders, and executives, driving consensus across competing objectives
- Manages multiple stakeholders, complex projects, and large cross-product collaborations
- Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams
- Champions the firm's culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills - Formal training, or certification on Java concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
- Deep understanding of post-trade processing, including Trade Processing, Trade Matching, Affirmation/Confirmation, Settlement, Position Keeping, and Asset Servicing.
- Familiarity with post-trade technology platforms and systems, as well as modern technology solutions for legacy system transformation.
- Experience leading complex projects supporting system design, testing, and operational stability
- Awareness of regulations affecting post-trade activities, such as Dodd-Frank, EMIR, and MiFID II.
- Demonstrated experience in successfully transforming legacy systems to modern technology platforms.
- Excellent leadership and team management abilities, with experience managing an organization of 40-plus people.
- Demonstrated prior experience influencing across highly matrixed, complex organizations and delivering value at scale
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.
