Job Description:

This role supports the MedTech J& J Chief Scientific organization. It serves as the strategic advisor for the Chief Scientific Office and develops the functional strategy for the organization, leads critical functional projects in support of the organization, and ensures operational results are delivered.

Scope of Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning and facilitation of the Chief Scientific Office Leadership Team (CSOLT) meetings.
  • Develop and maintain the CSO strategy, tracking progress on strategy execution.
  • Oversee the organizational governance team structure, identifying sponsors and champions to drive key functional priorities and initiatives.
  • Facilitate the Med/Clinical and R& D councils to promote collaboration and the sharing of best practices and knowledge across MedTech
  • Manage annual budget development, compliance, and ongoing management in close partnership with Finance and the CSO & CSOLT.
  • Manage the annual MedTech CSO Goals and Objectives development and execution.
  • Support the development of CSOLT communications.
  • Develop and deliver change management plans to inspire, foster understanding, and promote the adoption of the CSO strategy and key programs among CSO leaders, employees, and key business stakeholders.
  • Guide key planning, implementation, and establish governance workstreams of the CSO.
  • Facilitate alignment between program goals and strategic initiatives to enhance overall effectiveness and accountability.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in business related field is required, preferably a Masters Degree in a similar field
  • A minimum of 12+ years of business experience required, preferably MedTech industry
  • Demonstrated track-record of operating with senior leadership across multiple levels divisions, geographies, and partners
  • A background and experience in negotiating and leading through ambiguity and sophisticated challenges
  • Validated experiences of making the sophisticated simple and translating strategy into strong execution outcomes
  • Consistent track record of formulating recommendations that drive sound decisions and deliver results
  • Experience of large-scale budgeting, working with Corporate Finance leadership and managing funding compliantly
  • Proven ability defining a strategic vision and translating it into executable strategy
  • A strong record in issue and conflict mitigation and resolution, at significant scale
  • A consistent record in managing across the depth and breadth of the organization, ideally with broad E2E exposure
  • Experience in engaging business and technology partners to deliver effective solutions for sophisticated data needs and incorporating long term strategic foresight in data needs and utilization
