We are searching for the best talent for the Global Head GU Cancer, Medical Affairs Strategy & Execution to be in Raritan, NJ.

You will be responsible for:

The Global Head GU Cancer, Medical Affairs Strategy & Execution, will be responsible to support the strategic execution of global medical affairs activities for the assigned areas. They will directly support the medical affairs strategies, in addition to leading key scientific congress medical affairs activities, external scientific engagement, and broad operational execution using industry leading approaches. S/he will also lead a team of asset and disease area focused colleagues in the prostate and bladder cancer disease areas in supporting the planning and execution of global medical affairs activities as outlined below.

Responsibilities include:

  • Oversees the development, refinement and execution of a robust world-wide medical affairs strategy, global integrated evidence generation plan, scientific communication strategy, including scientific communication platforms (SCPs), R& D booth content, global publication plan, internal knowledge exchange and dissemination in partnership with GMALs, and DAS Leads (R& D & Commercial) ensuring execution within regulatory guidelines and compliance laws and guidelines globally.

  • Provide leadership within GMA Therapeutic Area to ensure an effective team and high level of talent with competencies and skills to partner collaboratively with the GMALs, Regional Medical Affairs, Commercial and R& D to deliver on the clinical-commercial optimization of products throughout the lifecycle.

  • Acts as standing or ad-hoc member for various cross-functional teams; provides scientific / medical and operational perspectives to the global strategic organization.

  • Provides subject matter expertise for cross-pharma standard operating procedures and processes including ReCAPv3, Secondary Data Methods Review, Publications, Investigator Initiated Studies, Collaborative Studies, JPUBS and Pre-approval product access for treatment use.

  • Supports optimal performance and development of the employees within the therapeutic area(s); including clear goals and objectives aligned with the therapeutic area and R& D G& Os, performance management, training plans, talent and succession planning and employee development plans. This position is charged with making decisions associated with the management of assigned personnel and administration, including hiring, performance management, space allocation, supplies, budget, travel, etc.

  • Ensure high quality efficient & effective resourcing in the execution of GMA strategies and tactics; develops sourcing strategies and effective partnerships with vendors and other key internal & external partners.

  • Supports the early pipeline assets in advance of Strategy & Execution assignment.

Qualifications / Requirements:

  • Advanced degree required (Pharm D, PhD. Or Master’s) (Preferred) or bachelor’s degree with 15+ years relevant experience.

  • Expertise in the areas of drug development, strategic planning, business planning, cross functional collaboration/alignment, and in-depth knowledge of Medical Affairs.

  • Demonstrated experience in managing and mentoring medical affairs team members. Excellent people leadership skills in a global matrix environment is required.

  • Sound financial acumen and experience managing resources and budgets. Effective leadership skills and proven ability to effectively manage stakeholders, foster team productivity and cohesiveness. Excellent communication skills and the innate flexibility to work in a rapidly growing and highly matrixed organization.

  • Ability to interact with all levels of management and influence decision making.

  • Ability to manage complexity and demonstrate innovative approaches to change management.

  • Proven track record of driving results with a sense of urgency in a complex and rapidly changing environment.

  • Strong presentation and communication skills -- must be able to provide succinct strategic and actionable insights to senior management.

  • Global mindset with proven ability to partner cross culturally and regionally.

  • Strong organizational skills with experience managing multiple programs with demanding timelines.

  • Vendor management experience.

  • Strong working knowledge of healthcare compliance principles and local / regional regulations and laws.

  • Industry experience in working in a partnership / alliance collaboration is an asset.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is $213, 000 to $369, 000.
