Job Description:

Johnson and Johnson is recruiting for a Director NA Transportation Procurement located in New Brunswick, Raritan, Titusville, NJ or Tampa, FL.

The Transportation Procurement Leader for North America will oversee and provide leadership in

developing and executing global sourcing and supplier management strategies for the Transportation Procurement categories. Collaborating closely with Deliver and GGTO teams in NA, this role will play a key role in driving effective supplier selection and contract management for go-to-market events. The leader will also champion working capital improvement initiatives and drive category and spend performance strategies by utilizing various capabilities and tools such as category strategy, market intelligence, and advanced sourcing.

The role’s scope of responsibilities include:

  • Determine business needs regionally in the categories, and devise Procurement strategies to advance those priorities
  • Identify industry trends that Procurement must build into its category strategies to ensure sustainable relevance to Johnson & Johnson’s workforce strategy
  • Lead and develop a Global category team, responsible for global category strategy development and implementation, and key supplier management, for a transportation category.
  • Strategize, select, manage, align, and implement global sourcing and supplier management strategies for Transportation Procurement categories in the North America region.
  • Co-lead and provide procurement subject matter expertise to Deliver Operations and GTTO for go-to-market events, focusing on identifying and contracting partners.
  • Drive working capital improvement initiatives and provide teams with insights and access to centralized analytics capabilities to achieve tangible improvement.
  • Develop and shape category and spend performance strategies, utilizing available capabilities and tools like category excellence, advanced sourcing, and market intelligence.
  • Provide procurement leadership and support stakeholders and business partners in progressing and delivering key capital, growth, and asset-related projects.
  • Collaborate with project teams and external partners to design and execute sourcing, supplier selection, and supplier relationships, ensuring speed, reliability, and cost efficiency.
  • Create and implement cost improvement and avoidance initiatives through category strategies, sourcing, supplier relationship management (SRM), and innovation.
  • Contribute to sustainability and emissions reduction efforts aligned with organizational goals.
  • Oversee transportation procurement services operations, develop policies, standards, guidelines, technology, and procedures in the assigned area.
  • Negotiate service agreements and contracts with transportation companies, ensuring supplier quality, transit time, and cost performance goals are met.
  • Drive the resolution of complex supplier quality problems, improve business processes, and facilitate effective remediation techniques.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Demonstrated global expertise in Procurement and/or Transportation Operations
  • Strong business acumen – the ability to understand challenges through the eyes of the business leaders
  • Influencing skills – the ability to persuade others to change behavior in pursuit of a common goal
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills at the senior executive level, as well as with peers
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to confidently present complex information to senior executives
  • Broad-based understanding of core procurement areas of focus (spend management, category management and supplier management)
  • Strong project and change management capabilities
  • Demonstrated learning agility, and the ability to improve both yourself and the people around you

Preferred:

  • Experience in Procurement and/or Transportation and Logistics

The anticipated base pay range for this position is:

$146, 000-$251, 850

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company’s discretion on an individual basis. Employees and/or eligible dependents may be eligible to participate in the following Company sponsored employee benefit programs: medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, business accident insurance, and group legal insurance. Employees may be eligible to participate in the Company’s consolidated retirement plan (pension) and savings plan (401(k)). This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s long-term incentive program.
