The Director within the US Medical Affairs (MAF) Medical Strategy Team is a Pulmonary

Arterial Hypertension (PAH) medical expert who will lead key medical affairs functions and initiatives of data generation and data dissemination strategies. These responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

  • This position will provide complex scientific and clinical leadership in leading the development of strategic and tactical projects to execute the Medical Plan and direction for US Medical Affairs.
  • This role will coordinate with Commercial to ensure alignment between Medical Affairs and Commercial strategy, with tactical implementation of brand plans
  • This job requires a combination of in-depth medical knowledge and clinical understanding in PAH disease, the products, and the patient journey.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, scientific/medical presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills are required for this role.
  • This role will require cross-functional collaboration with functional and the ability to work with and influence stakeholders across all levels.
  • This individual will be responsible for leading various team members and provide direction and guidance on their deliverables.
  • Act as a subject matter expert internally and externally to represent Medical Affairs voice across the various cross functional groups.

  • Facilitate resolution of issues relating to projects, priorities and team dynamic
  • Demonstrate deep collaboration and initiative in resolving issues
  • Must possess excellent written, oral and presentations skills

Requirements

  • MD, PhD or PharmD with 10 or more years of relevant experience of which 5 years are industry or clinical/academic experience
  • MD who specializes in cardiologist or pulmonologist highly preferred.
  • People management experience
  • Strong knowledge of PAH, pulmonary medicine and critical care highly preferred.
  • Strong communication and excellent interpersonal skills required.
  • 8 or more years of experience in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry or equivalent academic or clinical experience, preferably in medical affairs with strong medical focus and experience regarding medical plans, publications, medical information, education grants, investigator initiated studies, and Phase IIIb/IV programs preferred.
  • Medical science background with a strong understanding of clinical research and clinical trial design and management preferred.
  • Management experience in pharmaceutical industry preferred
  • Ability to form strong relationships based on credibility and trust, be able to work within teams and handle a fast-paced work environment preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% within and outside of the US as needed preferred.
  • Head office role based in J& J Titusville office.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is 160000 to 276000.

Additional Description for Pay Transparency:

The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable plan. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation’s performance over a calendar/performance year.
