We are searching for the best talent for Associate Director, Strategic Programs - J& J Innovative Medicine North America, to be in Titusville, NJ.

This Associate Director position will report into Sr. Director, Enterprise Strategic Programs and will provide strategic program management and change management expertise to seamlessly execute strategies that result in value creation for the J& J IM NA business. Key focus areas will include delivering strategic program management (including program design, integration and execution planning, risk identification, senior level stakeholder management and executive leadership reporting) and shaping robust change management plans for highly complex, cross-enterprise initiatives. This position will also play a leadership role in process improvements and transformation efforts for J& J IM North America and therefore requires the expert leadership of cross-functional project teams and partnership with senior leaders to ensure key projects are aligned with business objectives and meeting the defined KPIs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the evolution of processes, systems, and operating models based on J& J IM NA priorities to strengthen organizational capabilities and improve organizational performance.
  • Function as the Program Management leader of highly complex projects/ initiatives. Define and implement seamless transition of program oversight, project management and operations to the business.
  • Employ best-in-class project management methodologies including chartering, scoping, development and maintenance of the integrated project plan, leading core project team meetings, and customized reporting of project metrics. Function as an expert in project risk management and contingency planning, including risk registry, impact analyses, and mitigation design.
  • Utilize formal change management methodologies (e.g. PROSCI) to shape change management plans and ensure adoption, absorption, and normalization of project outputs.
  • Provide strategic thought-partnership to program sponsors and business leaders, analyzing complex information to understand impacts to TAs, Centers of Excellence (CoE) and be able to effectively lead teams through complexity.
  • Employ robust stakeholder management across senior leaders and workstream leads with particular attention to touchpoints within TA/CoEs and across North America teams.
  • Shape and provide oversight of critical metrics/KPIs and their impact on the project and/or business. Maintain confidential communications of these indicators to senior leadership.
  • Lead high-performing project team to ensure seamless alignment toward and achievement of the project objectives within scope, on-time, and within budget
  • Successfully interface and manage vendors, consultants, and external partners as necessary.
  • The initiatives in scope for this position will be primarily driven from the J& J Innovative Medicine North America Strategy, Analytics and Transformation (StAT) organization, but may vary based on enterprise and team needs.

Education:

  • This position requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree.
  • A post-graduate degree (e.g. MBA, MA, MS) is preferred.
  • Commercial pharmaceutical industry experience is strongly preferred
  • Professional project management (e.g. PMP), change management (e.g. ProSci), or Six Sigma (e.g. Green Belt) certifications are strongly preferred.

Experience and Skills:

Required:

  • 7 years of overall business experience preferably within the pharmaceutical industry or healthcare.
  • 5 years of formal Project and/or Change Management experience managing large programs, strategic initiatives, or organizational change efforts.
  • Demonstrated ability for leading project teams and holding others accountable for delivery
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills; able to establish good working relationships across functions at all levels, identify risks and devise creative and strategic solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to present targeted data and KPIs to senior and executive leaders.
  • Expertise in scenario planning to identify ranges of potential outcomes and impacts and managing for both positive and negative possibilities

Preferred:

  • Experience in project planning tools (e.g. Microsoft Project, SmartSheet, Planisware) is preferred
  • Experience with visualization tools (e.g. Tableau) or other business intelligence tools is preferred.
  • Experience with change management frameworks (e.g. PROSCI) is preferred.
  • Previous people management or team leadership experience is preferred.
  • Previous resource and/or capacity management experience is preferred.

Other:

This position is located in Titusville, NJ and may involve up to 10% travel as required to support project teams at multiple sites/locations.

The anticipated base pay range for this position is:

$120, 000 - $207, 000
