Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine is recruiting for the position of Associate Director, Data Management (Managed Markets) within the Customer Engagement and Digital Transformation (CEDT) team. This position is based in Titusville, NJ.

Role:

The Associate Director, Data Management (Managed Markets) will act as the primary data steward for functional area(s) supporting/related to the Managed Markets landscape. This individual will provide data management support to help the organization lead the evolving and changing market access & reimbursement environment across Commercial, Medicare and Medicaid channels, supporting Rx, sales, formulary, and industry insights from Managed Markets (Payers, MCOs, PBMs, Employer Groups, IDNs, Medicare, Medicaid) and other Managed care organizations.

This individual will evaluate potential new data sources/vendors to provide the latest available insights. As a domain expert on Managed Markets within the Commercial Strategy & Operations organization, the Associate Director will support ad hoc, data-centric business questions, and will partner with IT and business partners to proactively resolve data issues and support data initiatives.
Responsibilities:
  • Function as the "go to" key contact within the Commercial Strategy & Operations organization for managed markets data related needs, queries, and issues.
  • Manage the current inventory of data, along with appropriate data infrastructure (i.e., Payer master MDM, Payer analytics layer, Formulary views) ensuring total quality and proper use across the organization.
  • Lead all aspects of the operations and processes surrounding the Payer Analytics Layer, merging Payer Rx/claims and formulary data.
  • Direct the ongoing quality and application of the managed markets data pipeline, ensuring high-quality data and compliant use.
  • Govern all business rules and lead the process of aligning with collaborators on changes and enhancements to data quality.
  • Provide regular communications regarding status of data quality and impact of market events to the organization.
  • Lead data-centric projects to resolution, through project management, execution, and communication (e.g., data onboarding, data changes).
  • Perform impact analysis of data events/changes on various commercial operations processes and engage business process owners to align on the action plan.
  • Responsible for leading annual data purchase budgets for assigned portfolio, build POs and collaborate with finance, procurement and business owners on budgets.
  • Maintain inventory of purchased data and promote organizational awareness of application of data in relevant use cases.
  • Participate in the evaluation of new data sources that may provide new insights, competitive advantage and help advise future data strategy.
  • Ensure that data vendors align with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) by ensuring data quality, timely delivery, errors reported, time to resolution to data inquiries, account services etc.
  • Meaningful experience of 10 years in roles related to data management, analytics, insights or other commercial excellence areas within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry.
  • Undergraduate Degree in Business, Technology, Analytics or Health Sciences
    Health Sciences or related field is required. A master's degree or equivalent experience is an asset
  • Experience in Managed Markets (payer/formulary) themed data sources and data management standard processes (e.g., payer MDM) that enable the full range of analytical applications.
  • Knowledge of existing and emerging data sources and data vendors in Pharma Commercial domain, including IMS/IQVIA, SHS, MMIT formulary, SPP, patient claims, RWE/HEOR, etc. is required.
  • Previous experience in establishing and leading data partnerships with external vendors.
  • Solid grasp of data analytics, AI, and machine learning concepts and their application to business operations.
  • Knowledge of data querying/business intelligence tools and systems that allow for effective management of large data sets.
  • Experience in data governance and good understanding of data lifecycle, data quality, metadata, and data management.
  • Critical thinking, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities based on meticulous data analysis and interpretation.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, with the capacity to collaborate successfully across multi-functional teams and work well with senior leadership.
  • Familiarity with data privacy regulations and industry-specific compliance considerations.
The base pay range for this position is $118, 000 to $203, 550. The Company maintains highly competitive, performance-based compensation programs. Under current guidelines, this position is eligible for an annual performance bonus. The annual performance bonus is a cash bonus intended to provide an incentive to achieve annual targeted results by rewarding for individual and the corporation's performance over a calendar/performance year. Bonuses are awarded at the Company's discretion on an individual basis.
