We are searching for a motivated & experienced Manager, Reporting & Receiving Materials
The Reporting and Receiving Material’s Manager is responsible for the planning, organizing and controlling of the receiving, raw material warehouse, inventory control, and replenishment, to maximize productivity. Prepares schedules for shipping between manufacturing plants and receiving materials to control flow of goods and regulate warehouse space. In addition, this position is accountable for all warehouse inventory accuracy and cycle counting routines to drive accurate perpetual records on the material stored in the warehouse.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Uses ERP reports and “pulls” inventory concepts to plan and manage raw material, WIP, and inventory levels, established by production requirements
- Ensures the availability of all the necessary ingredients and materials to produce
- Works with corporate purchasing on replenishment, ensuring proper inventory loads, process compliance and pricing
- Ensures timely unloading, receiving, storage and delivery of material to the production areas
- Maintains inventory and product loss control, coordinates timely and accurate shipping and receiving, and ensures safety/operational guidelines are met.
- Maintains cycle count standard work goals with the long term objective of achieving cycle count certification
- Maintains and issues inventory reporting, including inventory accuracy, cycle count metrics and scrap processing
- Implements and enforces standard work across the functions
- Drives continuous improvement activities in all functional areas
- Work with corporate purchasing on replenishment, ensuring proper inventory loads, process compliance and pricing
- Works with plant management and other supervisory staff to assign, direct, review and monitor work of supervised staff to maximize productivity warehouse and shipping department
- Leads material replenishment activities for the factory, ensuring that delivery of parts to production lines are done per standard work instructions
- Works with other department managers (Production, QA, Sanitation, Safety) to ensure service levels, while maintaining housekeeping, OSHA and FDA/SQF regulations
- Provides leadership in selecting, developing and evaluating personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function
- Motivates staff to make an effective and efficient team
- Attends company scheduled meetings when applicable (i.e., safety meetings, production meetings, department meetings.)
- Informs supervision of any problems or complications that may arise
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as required
- PO management: place PO according to production needs, follow up with vendors, small conflict resolution (PO short, isolated quality issues, etc.)
- Warehouse management: the reception of goods, storage, delivery to production, return to the warehouse, etc.
In addition to the essential duties and responsibilities listed above, all positions are also responsible for:
- Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures.
- Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments. Must follow all Company Safety policies, as well as all GMP regulations and all lock-out/tag-out requirements according to OSHA requirements.
- As part of your supervisory responsibility and as a back-up, supervisors must be able to do your work in ways that ensure safe food. You must also be aware of issues associated with food safety and safe food handling practices that are relevant to your job. Formal training is not required, but in house Food Safety Training conducted by a qualified staff member is mandatory. You must know how to recognize, prevent and alleviate food safety hazards. This position requires good working knowledge of the SQF code.
