Description:

We are seeking a college summer intern in our Hillsborough, NJ faciltiy. This intern will execute projects related to LabView code to add features to the Liquid Phase Epitaxial (LPE) growth program to expand on the flexibility of the furnace growth and control program to allow for improved data capture, error handling and production aids.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Become familiar with the LPE growth process
  • Identify LabView code sections that could benefit from modification
  • Propose and make code improvements

Education & Experience
  • Pursing a Bachelors degree in physical science (Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Electrical Engineering) or interdisciplinary Hardware/Software Engineering
  • Demonstrated proficiency in writing LabView code for instrumentation control and data capture

Skills & Other Requirements
  • Ability to design and write LabView code for instrumentation control and data capture
  • Ability to debug the code and make changes as needed to obtain the desired goal(s)

Working Conditions

Lab environment (not clean room) with many growth furnaces. A desk and PC workstation will be provided to enable LabView code development and testing.

Physical Requirements

Be able to stand and walk around the LPE lab for prolonged periods to get familiar with LPE growth system hardware and software. Sit at a workstation in a production lab setting to perform coding. Be able to disconnect/reconnect PC and hardware to LPE crystal growth stations.
