JOB DESCRIPTION

The Recreational Marine Insurance Department is accepting applications to fill an Underwriting position with a National U.S. Territory. The primary focus of the position will be Recreational Marine, Boats and Yachts with a wide variety of customer types.. The Underwriter will be responsible for driving financial performance and assisting the team in reaching their overall goals.

Key Responsibilities Include:
  • Meet or exceed financial goals including rate, growth, profit, retention, and new business
  • Analyze and process all aspects of new business, renewals cancellations and endorsements, within authority
  • Identify and target profitable new business opportunities
  • Create and foster producer relationships
  • Use appropriate written and verbal communication to effectively respond to internal and external customers
  • Travel within assigned territory
  • Implements underwriting objectives by reviewing, evaluating, and pricing new business
  • Maintain acceptable loss ratio
  • Initiate and participate in all activities necessary to best serve customer and team needs
  • Participate in team projects and perform other duties, as required
  • Meet or exceed service standards
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with a team of underwriters, underwriting associates, customer service representatives, claims examiners, and loss control representatives
