This is a full-time internship position for our Spring Rotation, from January 13, 2025 through May 16, 2025 in Woodcliff Lake, NJ.
Our intern will support the US Information and Communication Team to create Test and Quality management solutions for information and communication systems (I& C) and perform validation testing. This includes partly projected mode systems like Apple CarPlay or Android Auto as well as functions like Entertainment, Navigation and Connectivity. The focus of activities is both to optimize the functional and technical characteristics as well as the human machine interface of these systems to the needs and wishes of US customers.
Key Responsibilities: - The application of test and problem management tools like defect and test data bases, and the development of smart solutions in that area
- Support local Test and Problem manager with tracking progress during active test campaigns
- Develop smart tool solutions for tracking US requirements and Quality Standards to keep the status synchronized between different data bases
- Participate in test campaigns and in validation test drives
- Setting up vehicle hardware and software for test drives
- Support information management for vehicle and test related topics
- Preparing and communicating of specific test results to counterparts at the German headquarters in Munich
Requirements: - Currently enrolled in a bachelor or master's degree program at an accredited college or university
- Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major)
- Have completed at least 30 college credit hours at time of application
- Field of study: Engineering (Electrical/Automotive)
- Must attach a copy of college unofficial transcript
- Ability to work full-time (36.25 hours/week)
- Prior BMW Group experience (applicable to international J1 students only)
- Strong coding/programming skills
- Motivated, conscientious, responsible
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong analytical capabilities
Preferences: - Previous work experience in the automotive industry in the field of embedded electronics or infotainment
- Languages: English, German (fluent, oral and written)

The hourly rate for Undergraduate students is $25.30
The hourly rate for Graduate students is $32.20
The selected student's academic level will be used to determine the final pay rate. This statement is in accordance with state and local pay disclosure requirements.
