Job Description
ContiTech Vibration Control GmbH and affiliated OESL legal entities is hiring a Sr Manufacturing Engineer (Controls) in somersworth, NH. This is a full-time position.
Responsible for the creation, implementation, and technical support of industrial control systems, including PLC and robotics programming. Provides support for industrial communication networks, such as EtherCAT, as well as data acquisition systems. Contributes to new product quoting and supports the industrialization of new products through process development and qualification. Delivers ongoing PLC and HMI support while assisting with production process engineering to ensure efficient and reliable manufacturing operations.
Provide technical support to production operations with a focus on blow molding, injection molding, robotics, and automation systems.
Specify, procure, and develop new equipment to support new product launches, equipment replacement, capacity expansion, capability enhancement, and increased production flexibility.
Identify, investigate, and resolve equipment reliability and performance issues through structured problem-solving and implementation of corrective actions.
Serve as a technical expert in the development of Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (FMEAs), including execution of Reverse FMEAs (RFMEAs).
Conduct time studies and operational analyses to improve efficiency through cycle time reduction, material optimization, and process stabilization.
Provide support to production and maintenance teams by troubleshooting and implementing changes to PLC and HMI systems, as well as diagnosing and resolving industrial communication system issues.
Support new products and tooling introductions through robotics programming, program modifications, and troubleshooting.
Contribute to the expansion and maintenance of digitalization and Industry 4.0 initiatives, including the development and implementation of new use cases.
BS Electrical or Chemical Engineering (other engineering degrees may be considered dependent on experience)
5+ years’ experience in manufacturing
5+ years’ experience in industrial control systems and automation (applications, set-up, programming debug, integration)
2+ years’ experience in project management
2+ years' SAP or similar ERP system experience
1+ year experience in data acquisition systems
1+ year experience in tooling repair and maintenance methods, and procedures
Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
