Essential Functions

  • Assists in tracking purchase orders for the plant.
  • Ensure essential materials, equipment and tools are kept in stock and available for use.
  • Assist in the purchase of stockroom merchandise.
  • Help coordinate all services needed for re-use, disposal and re-charge such as fire extinguishers, lubrication dispensers, biohazard containers, forklift repairs, LP tanks, etc.
  • Assist in creating cost saving initiatives, inventory control methods, and re-order supply systems.
  • Handle material from delivery trucks and prepare them for storage or movement to another location in the facility.
  • Track inventory levels, update records, and conduct periodic physical inventories.
  • Help maintain accurate records of inventory, supplies, and material usage.
  • Contact vendors and contractors in support of production operations.
  • Communicate information to the supervisor and department employees of the next shift to ensure effective and safe operations, efficient equipment and material usage, and quality assurance.
  • Authorized and trained to handle hazardous waste.
  • Create and maintain a general housekeeping schedule with responsibilities to ensure cleaning standards are maintained throughout the shift.
  • Help maintain the grounds and lawn equipment for mowing, weed control, watering, and exterior clean-ups.
  • Follow safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment. Report any hazards or incidents.

Expected Areas of Competence (KSAs)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to connect with diverse groups of people.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, including, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Well-developed organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven work experience as a warehouse clerk or in a similar role.
  • Ability to be certified, for powered industrial equipment such as forklift, Bobcat, and other warehouse equipment.

Physical Requirements

Lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or exert similar amount of force infrequently. This position will lift, grasp, carry, push, pull or otherwise move equipment and product.

Education

Preferred
  • High School or better
