Description:

Rugby Manufacturing is looking for a Production Manager. Rugby is North America's leading designer and manufacturer of Class 3-5 dump truck bodies, landscape bodies, platform bodies, truck and trailer hoists, related truck equipment and accessories.

Job Summary:

  • Responsible for directing and managing all plant operations with overall responsibilities for production management. Set up standards of performance, measure progress, set up and control work flow and determine personnel needs. Responsible for all technical aspects of the operations.
  • Ensure Customer satisfaction with products and delivery time based on production scheduling and demand needs.
  • Review schedules and production orders to make decisions concerning inventory requirements, staffing requirements, work procedures, and duty assignments while considering budgetary limitations and time constraints.
  • Provide direction, development and leadership to production supervisors/leaders
  • Must have strong focus on employees and ensure their safety and well-being
  • Must have strong customer focus and make the best decisions for TBEI and our customers
  • Ability to manage change and maintain credibility with all production employees
  • Lead Continuous improvements and identifying opportunities and need by managing CAPA’s and using tools such as COPQ and Scrap Reports.

Environment: Combination of production floor and office environment

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Manufacturing, Engineering, or Industrial Health and Safety or Metals industry
  • 2 years managing and/or leading in a production environment.
  • Broad knowledge and the ability to implement quality management systems such as ISO
  • Extensive knowledge and the ability to drive continuous improvement through lean manufacturing and/or lean six sigma techniques.
  • Must have the ability to create/develop budgets and work within them
  • Ability to coordinate plant activities and value stream flow with departmental supervisors/leaders
  • Demonstrated success in leading the development of strategic plans
  • Growth oriented with proven record of continuous improvement success
  • Strong project management skills
  • Effective time management system that ensures commitments are honored
  • Ability to Handle stress and able to adapt in a dynamic environment
