GRAND FORKS PUBLIC SCHOOLS is hiring a SCHOOL SECRETARY - VALLEY MIDDLE SCHOOL in Grand Forks, ND. This is a full-time position.

Education: High School Diploma or High School Equivalency plus additional secretarial training equivalent to one (1) year Qualifications: Positive human relations skills. Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. Experience with a variety of computer applications (Google, Microsoft Office). Knowledge of records management systems. Job Goal: Perform duties that assist the principal(s) in the operation of the school. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following: Function as school building secretary, promoting positive interactions with students, staff and parents.Maintain school calendar.Assist with the maintenance of school records and student transcripts.Maintain student and staff confidentiality in all circumstances.Perform clerical duties such as managing and directing inquiries, filing, mail, operating electronic door system, and scheduling appointments on a daily basis.Track attendance and absences for teachers and students using Absence Management and Power School software and generate reports accordingly. Perform general bookkeeping functions; collect and receipt revenues including student fees, participation fees, gate receipts, and fund-raising activities.Provide general first aid and medication as needed. (Training is required).Facilitate purchases of general supplies and equipment.Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal. Work Environment and Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; occasionally walk and stand. The ability to hear and see in order to communicate effectively as well as communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing; Maintain effective audio/visual discrimination and perception to the degree necessary for the successful performance of assigned duties; Maintain mental capacity, allowing for effective interaction and communication with others. Terms of Employment: 11 months Evaluation: Annual written evaluation by the Supervisor.
