Job Description

As our Advanced Gas Operations (AGO) division continues to grow, we’re excited to announce our expansion throughout North Carolina! To help us build a strong foundation in this new market, we’re seeking a select group of our top-performing technicians who are interested in relocating to support our customers and help establish operations in these new areas.

We understand that relocation is a significant decision, and we’re committed to providing support, including lump sum relocation assistance of $7, 500 to ensure a smooth move.

Responsibilities:

  • Use locating equipment to determine the location of gas lines in a designated area and mark the area with paint and flags to prevent damage to utility infrastructure. Some hand digging to unearth gas lines may be required.

  • As a technician in our Advanced Gas Operations division, you may locate other utilities in addition to gas lines, depending upon the project to which you are assigned.

Qualifications:

  • No final written warnings within the last 12 months

  • Satisfactory attendance record

  • Quality score of 7 or above

  • Driving score of 70 or above (per Samsara app)

  • Minimum of 6 months tenure with USIC

What We Need from You (Our Requirements):

  • Experience with gas is a must.

  • Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

  • Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed.

  • Ability to travel locally during the business day; some out-of-area or overnight travel may be expected.

  • Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.

  • Able to stand and walk for long periods of time on varying types of terrain; bend and stoop; lift heavy items up to 75 lbs.

  • Able to distinguish between colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities.

  • Computer proficiency.

  • Able to read, understand, and reference locate tickets, as well as maps and prints; possess basic math skill to calculate distances.

  • Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners. Customer service experience is a plus.

* This relocation package is contingent on signing a relocation agreement, which outlines eligibility and terms. Move must be completed by May 31, 2026.
