The ideal candidate is a resource for the financial reporting, financial analysis and forecasting activities for The Cook & Boardman Group. This position will report to FP& A Manager, as well as work closely with the Company's finance and operations teams.
Essential Functions - Design and maintain the following:
- Architecture of source system data to an on-premises data warehouse (DWH)
- Ingestion of DWH data into star schema semantic models
- Efficient and performant measures
- Interactive dashboard reports and visualizations leveraging tools such as Power BI, Tableau, etc.)
- Data partitioning and row-level security
- Effective communication to multiple audiences
- Act as a business analyst to the finance/operational teams to both translate and gather complex requirements
- Collaborate with stakeholders and SMEs across the organization within finance, operations, and leadership
- Convey clear/concise requirements to developers and technical teams for efficient backend functionality
- Preserve data integrity through development and post-production release
- Conduct recurring or ad-hoc analysis leveraging the data warehouse and/or business intelligence to answer business questions or provide meaningful insights
- Drive results within organization through delivery and communication of actionable analytics to leadership and throughout the organization as appropriate
- Other relative duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Analytics, Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education/experience
- Current and valid US driver's license preferred
- At least 2-5 years of experience in similar business intelligence and/or financial analyst roles at a complex multi-location business
- Strong experience using Excel, T-SQL and/or other BI reporting tools
- Working knowledge of the full O2C (order-to-cash) cycle and the transaction flow within the source system
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Strong knowledge of the Power BI business intelligence platform (or Tableau, Google, etc.)
- Ability to build dynamic, self-sustaining reports from scratch
- Deep understanding of data transformations leveraging programming language such as SQL, Power Query (M), DAX, Python, R, etc.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts, along with a solid understanding of financial principles of the full O2C (order-to-cash) cycle
- Demonstrable excellence at report UX and usability
- Experience with navigating an ERP environment and following the transaction flow of the O2C (order-to-cash) cycle
- Can manage multiple projects and demonstrate initiative in identifying/driving improvements while focused on ensuring accuracy and data integrity
- Thrives in a fact-pace environment and adapts quickly to changing requirements or priorities
- Ability to build strong working relationships at all levels
- Effective communication: an articulate person who is effective in communicating with people at all levels of the organization
- Detail oriented and team focused
