Spicewalla, LLC is hiring a Spicewalla Warehouse Manager in Asheville, NC. This is a full-time position.
Spicewalla is a chef-driven spice company located in Asheville, NC. We offer fresh spices that are all packed and processed with care. Spicewalla is a part of the Chai Pani Restaurant Group family. Position Summary The Warehouse Manager is responsible for overseeing all warehouse operations, with primary focus on inventory management, shipping and receiving, and fulfillment operations. This hands-on leadership role ensures orders are fulfilled quickly, accurately, and cost- effectively while maintaining product quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will balance operational execution with team development, evolving and creating efficient systems that support business growth. Primary Responsibilities Inventory Management Manage and organize warehouse space to maximize efficiency and accessibilityWork with the Production Manager and Production Supervisor to maintain and organize production supplies including raw materials and packaging materials.Coordinate receiving of raw materials, packaging, and other materials, ensuring proper organization and storage.Optimize inventory placement of finished goods for efficient picking and packing processes.Manage quarterly and annual inventory counts. Fulfillment Operations Prioritize and process orders across multiple sales channels (Shopify, Faire, wholesale, retail, food service).Pull, pack, ship, invoice, and load orders according to quality standards, continually looking for ways to improve picking and packing efficiencies for growth.Mentor and motivate fulfillment team members to increase efficiency and accuracy.Audit orders for accuracy and quality prior to shipment, including tracking and reporting on fulfillment KPIs to help reduce mispicks, incorrect orders, etc.) Shipping & Receiving Operations Manage shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies, adhering to relevant SOPs and Food Safety requirements.Coordinate with couriers (USPS, UPS, FedEx etc..) and freight carriers (LTL, FTL)Handle freight logistics including rate quotes, BOL creation, scheduling, and trackingAudit shipping charges and file claims for damaged or missing shipmentsRoutinely audit existing freight carriers and negotiate for ratesRegularly coordinate with the Procurement Manager to ensure delivery deadlines and quality objectives are consistently met.Maintain clean, organized shipping and receiving areas. Team Management & Leadership Train and supervise warehouse and fulfillment team membersCreate and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training materials relevant to areas of oversightEvaluate employee performance and provide constructive feedbackFoster a positive, safe work environment that promotes teamwork and accountabilityMaintain company standards for quality and consistency, leading by example.Ensure compliance with safety protocols and warehouse procedures Additional Responsibilities Continuously refine workflows and warehouse operations for maximum efficiencyParticipate in and promote food safety culture relevant to warehouse operationsCommunicate with vendors, drivers, customer service, and external partnersCollaborate with other departments on business priorities and goalsAdapt policies and procedures to reflect evolving department needs Qualifications Previous warehouse management or fulfillment experience required - CPG warehouse experience a plus.Should have strong organizational, communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skillsProficiency with inventory management, Excel (spreadsheets) and logistics softwareProblem-solving mindset with attention to detailAbility to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environmentExperience with multiple shipping carriers and freight logistics preferred (e.g. Ship Station, Faire, SPS Commerce etc) Work Environment: This position requires standing, walking, lifting (up to 50 lbs independently), and physical activity throughout the workday in a warehouse environment.Various and sometimes strong spice aromasMon - Fri, 9am- 5pm base schedule. Additional hours may be required based on operational and seasonal needs.
