Building the infrastructure to power the world - we are Linxon! (youtube.com)

How will you make your impact?

This is a new position at Linxon. As the Subject Matter Expert (SME) Primary Engineering, you will be at the forefront of transforming the energy landscape across the Americas. In this pivotal role, you will apply your technical mastery to develop innovative Substation Layout Designs spanning 765kV to 11kV, directly contributing to the modernization, resiliency, and sustainability of the power grid.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary experts—Project Lead Engineers, BIM Engineers, Protection & Control Engineers, and Civil Engineers—collectively shaping solutions that enable reliable energy access, support the integration of renewables, and strengthen critical infrastructure for future generations. Your insights won’t just support projects; they will influence how communities and industries stay powered in a rapidly evolving energy world.

While this is an individual contributor position, it is intentionally built for someone ready to grow into a leadership path. With demonstrated performance and vision, you can advance into a Lead Engineer or Primary Engineering Team Leader role within 3–5 years. This is more than a technical role—it’s an opportunity to lead change, elevate engineering excellence, and leave a lasting impact on the region’s energy transformation.

What will you do?

  • Deliver high‑voltage designs that strengthen grid reliability and support clean‑energy growth.

  • Produce buildable layouts and specs that reduce construction issues and keep procurement on track.

  • Apply advanced engineering analysis to prevent failures and ensure long‑term system performance.

  • Lead design reviews and provide targeted site support to resolve issues early and avoid costly rework.

  • Collaborate with engineering, supply chain, and field teams to ensure seamless execution from design to energization.

  • Build customer confidence by presenting clear, dependable technical solutions that enable successful project delivery.

Who you are?

  • You have hands‑on experience with both outdoor and indoor GIS applications, including a solid understanding of the building infrastructure needed to support indoor GIS systems.

  • You are skilled in CAD software, such as AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, and use these tools to produce accurate, high‑quality design deliverables.

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with at least five (5) years of experience, or a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with at least three (3) years of experience.

  • You ideally hold or are working toward a Professional Engineering (P.Eng.) certification.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive Salary: Enjoy a rewarding compensation package that reflects your contributions.

  • Health, Dental, and Vision Coverage: Comprehensive benefits to support your well-being and that of your family.

  • 401K with Employer Match: Invest in your future with our generous retirement savings plan.

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Access confidential support for personal and professional challenges.

  • Paid Time Off (PTO): Recharge and relax with ample time off to maintain work-life balance.

  • Learning and Development: Expand your skills through training programs and career-building opportunities.

  • Mentorship Initiatives: Connect with experienced professionals for guidance, support, and career insight.

  • Internal Mobility: Explore opportunities across departments and office locations to broaden your experience.

  • Performance-Based Advancement: Grow your career through clear pathways tied to your achievements and impact.
