About the Role:

As a Plumber - Maintenance Mechanic, you’ll be part of the crew that keeps its plumbing systems flying smoothly on the ground. You'll help ensure that every water supply line, sewage system, and drainage network in our terminals and airport facilities is operating at cruising altitude: safe, efficient, and ready for takeoff 24/7. Your mission will include maintaining, repairing, and installing plumbing systems across the airport campus, making sure we meet safety regulations and keep operations flowing for passengers, staff, and visitors alike.

This is a 2nd shift position, working from 2: 00 p.m. to 10: 00 p.m. The schedule will be either Sunday through Thursday (with Friday and Saturday off) or Tuesday through Saturday (with Sunday and Monday off).

Compensation:

  • Maximum – Based on experience
  • Minimum - $24.84

What You’ll Do:

  • Assist with installing, maintaining, and repairing plumbing systems, including water, gas, sewage, and drainage systems within facilities of the airport (terminals, administrative buildings, other facilities).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve plumbing-related issues such as leaks, blockages, and equipment malfunctions.
  • Respond to plumbing-related emergencies, including burst pipes, sewer backups, and faulty water supply lines in public areas.
  • Conduct regular inspections of plumbing systems to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and airport standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to plan plumbing system layouts.
  • Perform preventative maintenance to ensure long-term reliability of plumbing systems and minimize downtime.
  • Install and maintain water heaters, fixtures, and pumps in terminals and other facilities.
  • Participate in winter weather preparedness by ensuring plumbing systems are properly insulated and functioning during cold weather events.
  • Supports airport emergencies, special events, and irregular operations to include extreme weather events. Assists with snow removal efforts and other inclement weather-related needs.

      • Associate degree or Apprentice Program

      Experience:

      Required:

      • 2 or more years of experience in the Plumbing trade

      Preferred:

      • 4 or more years of experience in the Plumbing trade

      Licenses or Certifications:

      Required:

      • Valid NC Driver’s License

      Preferred:

      • CDL class B License (or ability to obtain within 9 months)
