Piedmont Plastics is currently seeking a Film Operations Manager to lead the Production Division within our Films business at our Charlotte branch. The Film Operations Manager will assist the Film General Manager with the duties required for the day-to-day operation of film conversion, directs and coordinates activities and employees in the branch warehouse and administration to obtain optimum efficiency and economy of operations. As a Film Operations Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Coordinate activities of the warehouse in the conversion of Film products
  • Review bills of lading for incoming material and sales order to plan work activities
  • Review orders daily and communicates with Film Support Specialists and the FGM to determine if changes in assignments or other actions are required to meet objectives
  • Follow company procedure on cycle counting
  • Work directly with Piedmont branches and end users to facilitate communication and to ensure customer
  • Work with the Film General Manager in conducting the annual physical inventory count
  • Use knowledge of slow-moving material and non-stock cut-offs to ensure cut jobs yield the highest margin percentage on each order.
  • Ensure orders are processed in the proper sequence (based on due dates and method of shipment/pick-up) to meet customer requirements.
  • Work in conjunction with the Production Manager and FGM to manage the branch recycling program
  • Serve as a liaison between Production and end-users when necessary
  • Assist FGM in setting sales budget and production goals
  • Serve as an active participant in the ISO Management System
  • Performance management – assist the FGM to train, develop, coach, and provide regular performance feedback on at least a quarterly basis including annual reviews
  • Staffing - interview, hire, plan, assign, and direct work
  • Compensation – monitors salary/wages of direct reports to ensure they are in-line with company salary structure and awards merit increases annually
  • Proactively responds to employee concerns or issues and ensures the work environment reflects the Piedmont Experience while following company policies

A successful candidate will have:

  • At least 3 years minimum of warehouse supervisory experience
  • The ability to establish priorities and multi-task along with proficiency in measurements
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • The strength and endurance to safely lift 55-100 pounds
  • Forklift/pallet jack experience or certification
