Job Description PURPOSE OF THE JOBTo support Sales Operations across all Divisions: East, North, and West. Duties include but are not limited to running open routes (Small Format, Large Format, and Full Service); managing special events, hot shots, on-premise deliveries, full service sales and execution; and training new or existing employees in the respective business channel.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES- Manages a group of Sales Operational employees (Full Service, Small Format, Large Format, Trainees) as determined by business need.
- Leads, coaches, and trains new employees in the core competencies and required skill sets for the respective positions.
- Assists Full Service, Small Format, and Large Format TSMs with servicing customers, delivering product, and merchandising in accordance with PBV standards.
- Communicates with customers and TSMs across the respective business channels.
- Follows through with TSMs/RSM on all training and execution concerns, trade development issues, and customer service issues.
- Assists local Regional Sales Manager with other duties as assigned, i.e. resets, hot shots, special events, customer issues, and filling voids.
- Runs open routes in the respective business channels. Drives and maneuvers a truck having a gross weight of under or over 26, 000 pounds.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSHigh school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred. Valid Driver's License required. Class A CDL preferred. Must be able to pass a DOT physical prior to first day of employment. (Must be able to obtain a CDL permit by the 15th business day and 45 business days from their date of hire in which to obtain the license, if CDL is not currently held.) Four (4) years experience in the beverage industry required. Must know the business and be able to explain the business reasons for processes, procedures, and policies. Ability to collaborate with TSMs and RSMs and manage across different business channels required. Proficient PC skills required, including Outlook and Word. Must demonstrate proficient operation of Handhelds, and must be able to drive all vehicles in the PBV fleet. Excellent oral communication skills required, including the ability to provide clear and concise feedback to employees. Must demonstrate and train with a high attention to market execution details. Requires strong leadership qualities such as trust and empathy, and must portray a professional company image. Must be able to work hours necessary to complete assigned tasks.
ESSENTIAL MENTAL AND PHYSICAL FUNCTIONSMental FunctionsVariable and somewhat diversified job requiring continuous mental alertness and very close visual attention. Able to focus on different business channels. Must pay above average attention when training drivers to operate company vehicles, up to and including tractor/trailer vehicles. Some oversight and direction provided by management.
Physical FunctionsMust frequently (34%-66%) sit, walk, and lift up to 85 pounds. Must occasionally (0%-33%) stand and climb. Must be able to push or pull up to 300 pounds.
EQUIPMENT USEDHandheld device, iPad, semi-tractor & trailer, straight truck, passenger car/pickup, 2- and 6-wheeled carts, personal computer, general office equipment.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESSupervises a section or department of 3-15 persons.
LANGUAGE SKILLSMust be able to speak, read, write and comprehend English proficiently.
