Job Description Oversee and manage the full range of human resources program and procedural support to employees, as well as administrative support to field HR Directors/Managers, and other facility management as needed. Manage and coordinate recruiting/onboarding, payroll, benefits/HRIS, leaves of absence, workers compensation claim reporting and management, employee relations and employee engagement.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES- Oversees and performs administrative responsibilities in the recruiting management system from creation to closure of job requisitions (creation, posting, tracking, scheduling, communicating with hiring managers, creating job offers, acquiring all necessary approvals, etc.)
- Partners with facility hiring managers to ensure staffing is approaching or at budgeted headcount levels.
- Manages employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and manager/supervisors daily.
- Serves first line of support for employee relations, guiding internal customers through employee relations issues, complaints, and advising department managers of appropriate remedial actions etc.
- Provides HR interpretation of policies and procedures. Escalate complex and /or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
- Directs and manages new hire onboarding process for the facility, to include scheduling pre-employment tests, initiating background checks, ordering access cards and uniforms, scheduling and conducting orientations and safety training, ensuring new hire paperwork is completed timely and accurately, and new hire personnel and/or DOT files are created according to company standard.
- Initiates investigations and assists in the preparation of supporting documentation/evidence and company response statements for legal matters such as EEOC and REDA claims, OSHA, and employee hotline complaints, etc.
- Manages and prepares accurate and timely company response for unemployment claims, to include submission of relevant documentation, participation in Appeals Hearings, and coordinating with managers.
- Educates employees on PBV benefit offerings and procedures, assists with benefits enrollment, open enrollment, and wellness programs, serves as the wellness champion for the facility.
- Function as the HR liaison in employee or facility meetings as needed (i.e., individual manager/employee 1: 1s or disciplinary meetings, employee roundtables, town halls, open enrollment, safety meetings, etc.) Provide accurate notes/minutes and capture any items necessary for HR follow-up. May assist HR Manager/Director in Employee Relations investigations and follow-up.
- Maintains facility payroll, personnel, and DOT files. Processes termination paperwork to include exit interviews, benefit/separation letters, Short-Term Disability non-compliance letters, and 12 weeks/26 weeks LOA letters.
- Provides general HR administrative support to include document retrieval, distribution of service awards, benefits administration, payroll and pay card activation and distribution, posting of company notices and memos, maintaining company bulletin boards including the digital boards, administration of employee surveys, responding to general employment verification and other HR related inquiries, etc.
- Provides basic end-user support for HR related apps, software, or web-based services, to include resetting passwords, basic navigation instruction and assistance,
- Coordinates pre-employment, post-accident, random and reasonable suspicion drug testing for the facility.
- Plan/organize and promote employee engagement, appreciation, and recognition activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS- Bachelor's degree and 3 years of HR generalist or admin experience or associate's degree and 5 years of HR generalist or admin experience.
- PHR/SHRM-CP Certification preferred.
- Excellent Computer Skills with proficiency in Word and Excel required.
- Must be able to collaborate with people at all levels in the organization.
- Organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Must be able to multi-task and set priorities.
- Excellent oral, written, interpersonal skills required.
- Must be able to work as a team member in a team environment.
- Must be able to work the hours necessary to complete assigned tasks.

Physical Functions: Constantly (67-100%) required to sit. Occasionally (0-33%) required to stand, climb, walk, lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
