Fleet Lead Technician Role OverviewMaintains and repairs fleet vehicles, light/heavy trucks, vans, and forklifts to ensure safe and reliable operations.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities- Provides support to leadership by the monitoring of the day-to-day activities within the fleet department.
- Oversees fleet repairs and quality control.
- Schedules performance maintenance, repairs & inspections.
- Repairs and services vehicles, performing all the functions of a Fleet Technician A.
- Conducts Vehicle Condition Report inspections and maintains reports.
- Trains and assists technicians.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Associates degree preferred. 10 years of vehicle maintenance experience required.
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical prior to first day of employment.
- Must be able to obtain a CDL permit by the 15th business day and 45 business days from their date of hire in which to obtain the license, if CDL is not currently held.
- Must be able to obtain six (6) ASE certifications.
- Must possess proficient knowledge and experience with tools and equipment. Gasoline, diesel, and propane fuel systems experience required.
- Onboard diagnostics and repair experience required.
- Must have experience with air and hydraulic brake systems, air conditioning, electrical systems, general vehicle repair, battery-powered industrial equipment, and hydraulic systems.
- Basic welding skills required.
- Required to have his/her own set of mechanic's tools sufficient for his/her level of experience.
- A good work ethic for daily physically and mentally challenging work is needed.
- Must enjoy working outside year round when necessary.
- Must have strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
- Must be able to meet PBV driving qualifications.
- Must be able to work hours necessary to complete assigned tasks.
